What a brave little boy and what a power of strenght you are vicki to go through all this :( I will pray for Bleu. . .I just read from cover to cover :( I hope it will be a miracle . . you so both deserve it. :(

sit tight- listen to your vet- unless you really feel a second opinion is important. Unfortunately it sounds like you did the rightthing and unless something else is wrong (brain injury?) then it'll be ok!

Well Bleu Sends His Love And Kisses To All Of You And Says Thank You For The Prayers....

I Got To Be With Him On 2 Different Occasions Tonight. First Time He Had Just Gotten A Dose Of Pain Meds So He Was Sleepy But Still Recognized Mommy But It Was Almost Like He Was Saying ( I Know You Are Here Mommy Just Pet Me Im Hurting) So That Is Exactly What I Did ...

The Second Visit With Him He Licked My Face Off And Was So Loving But I Can Sense He Is Tired And Ready To Get The Ball Rolling And Get It Over With... I Sensed Frustration Maybe .... But So Excited To See Me Then After The Initial Baby Talking I Do To Him Infront Of Tons Of People And I Dont Care He Was Ready To Rest Again.....

Ok The Visit With The Surgeon:
Wow Her Name Is Bianca Hetlick And I Absolutely Love Her. Not Many People Are Compassionate And Will Hug You And This Woman Even Walked Me To My Car ... Im Telling You This Lady Is So Very Reassuring In One Sense But Told Me 100% That We Could Lose Bleu Friday... I Told Her I Was Prepared Because I Knew If God Needed Him And Wanted Him Then He Would Go Friday Because We Are Doing All We Know To Do ....

She Discussed The Casting Option And The Surgery Option And At This Time We Are On For A Mri Tomorrow Morning At 9:00 Am She Is Most Concerned About How He Will Do With The Anesthesia ... Im Concerend Too .... She Says If He Does Well With The Anestheisa That When She Does Surgery That Part Of The Anesthesia Should Be Good Too And They Are Concerned In These Little 3 Pounders That They Will Not Respond And Wake Up So He Is Having Anesthesia In The Morning For His Mri.. They Are Also Going To Draw Fluid Off His Spine And Test It To Make Sure No Abnormalities Before Surgery.. The Mri Will Also Show If There Is Any Inflamation And Swelling Of The Brain ... Due To The Spinal Column Compressing Against The Vertebrae.... The Fluid Will Be Drawn Off The Top Of His Shoulders....

Then On Friday The 18th Of January Is Going To Be A Huge Day.. He Will Have Surgery. It Will Lasts 2 Hours She Says If He Awakes From Anesthesia I Get To See Him In Icu...she Says If He Awakes He Is 98% There Meaning Normal For The Rest Of His Life...she Has Warned Me Of The Things That Can Happen In Years To Come And I Am Fully Aware But The Chances Are Likely But The Statistic Is There.....

He Will Then Be In A Full Body Cast That She Designed And Texas A&m Approved... So Look For This Cast To Be Presented To Vets Soon Cause It Will Be... He Will Be In It 6-8 Weeks She Then Told Me I Would Visit Once A Week For 2 Months For The Hygeine And Stabilization Of The Cast....

She Spent A Total Of 3 Hours With Me She Told Me That I Could Go Elsewhere And Have The Surgery Done Or I Could Trust Her To Do It.. She Told Me In All The Cases That She Has Done They Were Successful But That She Has Not Done Very Many ... She Encouraged Me To Do What Best Made Us Comfortable...she Showed Me Cases She Had Done And Showed Me Many Images And Explained The Worst Case And Best Case Scenarios... She Told Me She Cared For My Dog And His Life Was In Her Hands And That Was A Huge Responsibility And She Is Honored To Take Care Of Him...

She Said That She Scheduled His Mri Early On Thurs So He Would Have To To Recoop And Be Ready For His Big Day On Friday.. She Said He Was The First Patient On Friday Because She Wanted A Good Nights Rest And A Clear Mind Before She Started On Bleu...

She Said That She Has Already Planned Ahead And Has A Orthopedic Surgeon That Will Be With Her... A Neurosurgeon And Another Surgeon That Has Done Many Of These Cases She Said He Will Have 100% Care She Said When Placing The Sqrews And Pins And Bone Cement And Fusion The Item They Are Concerned About Is The Sqrews Because His Bones Are Soft She Also Said That The Pins Have To Be Dilligently Placed And They Can Not See But From One Side So This Is A Very Tedious Surgery... Alot Of Factors Play Here...

I know you have to be so worried about your little boy. He's in great hands though. I haven't met many of the clinicians yet, but I'm so glad you're having such a great experience with the specialists you're seeing. I'll be thinking of him tomorrow morning and hoping his MRI goes smoothly. What time is his surgery sheduled for on Friday?

I just want to say how very lucky your baby is to have you for a mommy! Sadly, so many would opt to put them to sleep. I will be praying for the baby through the surgery and the long weeks ahead.

Yes I must say this baby is so lucky to have a family like yall. I am praying for you all. This is very touching for me, so sad.:( I can not imagine what yall are going through. May God bless yall in this time of need. I pray that Bleu has a full and speedy recovery. Remember God is great and he makes no mistakes.
