| ![]() Teddy is walking around all crunched up in the "poopy" position. He keeps looking back at his right back leg and trying to lick back there, but he won't let me touch it or even get close enough to look at it. And he's panting like crazy. He was ok this morning when I left for work, but then when my daughter got up for school he was acting a little weird and when she got home from school she found him acting this way. My vet can't see him till tomorrow, I don't know what to do. ![]()

| ![]() I'm sorry, I am not sure what is wrong although it does sound like he is in pain. Can you check him out to see if it is his leg or maybe he has some poop stuck? I would take him to the ER Vet though. They are just too small to be in that kind of pain for too long. Hope Teddy is feeling better soon.

| ![]() Sounds like he is constipated and or poop stuck, try putting him in warm bathwater in the sink and wash his little butt. And try a little canned pumpkin. Rosi had that when she was like 10weeks old and nobody told me to keep her butt shaved, she was salvating and crying, ended up taking her to the ER middle of the night where they gave her an enema...well 160.00 later and a very raw little butt she was fine, but it shure scared me. Trust me after that i made shure she got Buttcuts ![]()

| ![]() Certainly get him to vet asap --- it sounds like constipation and/or his anal gland (can be both as a swollen anal gland will effect bowel movements) Some karo syrup in his food will help with constipation. In regards to the anal gland, you may find that you have to has his gland squeezed -- you can learn to do this (its not too hard) but have the vet show you the first time. The classic tell tail sign of anal gland problems is when the dog rubs its butt on the ground/carpet/floor and moves around with only his front legs --- and FYI the stuff that comes out stinks so be careful. Good luck and prayers |

| ![]() They pant when they are in pain or discomfort. It sounds like this one is in bad pain.

| ![]() This is serious! Little Sam did the same thing last week. He was walking around and obviously in pain. My wife had wiped his bum and he let out a loud yip. Then he was outside walking around like he was trying to poo. I noticed something on his bum and it looked like a little poo on his fur. I picked him up and he was shaking like crazy. I took a wet wipe to pull it off his fur and realized that it was a little ball of string that had gone all the way through him. I pulled on the string and out came a 2 INCH SEWING NEEDLE!!! Apparently he found a needle and thread and swallowed the thread so the needle followed. We found no blood in his stool so kept a close eye on him for the next few days watching for signs of anything more serious like a perforated bowel. By the next day he was feeling fine and hasn't had a problem since so I think we're in the clear. My guess is that your little one ate something bad and is now trying to pass it, causing a lot of pain. My suggestion is to load him up with the natural laxatives, like the canned pumpkin, and see if it pushes something out. Otherwise get him to the vet ASAP! |

| ![]() I ended up taking him to the e-vet last night. The vet reached up there and pulled out string and foil ![]() Anyway, his appetite is back, but he still seems to be constipated so I'm going to try the pumpkin. If that doesn't work, are there any people laxatives that he can take? someone told me that baby laxatives can be used for these little guys when they get constipated. He's 7 lbs so he's not a tiny. He's playing again today so as long as I can get him to poop I think we're good. I want to thank everyone who responded. You guys really made me feel better because I was seriously freaking out ![]() And I'm sorry it took so long for an update, but by the time we got home last night I was exhausted and then I had to work today so this is the first chance I got to visit. Again, thanks so much, you are the best ![]()
