| Do you cut the hair by your pups eyes or grow it out? I'm trying to decide what to do. I don't like the constant grooming of trimming the hair around Princess's eyes & I'm nervous about her moving or something. I wanted it to grow out like other pups but it's taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Now the hair sticks horizontally in front of both eyes, though it's not poking them this time. What do you do? Is your pup in a full or short coat?

| My groomer is making me grow Rosie's out. I will tell you the truth. It is driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!! She did say I could use a tiny bit of vaseline to make it lay down instead of poking her eye balls!

| I snip the hairs in the corners next to Mina's eyes. I have poodles and they require more grooming than the yorkie,so I dont mind. |

| lanolin works really well for holding the hair back and is 100% safe for dogs to eat -be sure it is !00% pure HOA lanolin ( I use lansinhol) Having a super hard time with retraining the snout hair to go parted over nose in one part and up between eyes to join the hair to be grown out and up in a top knot

| Belle has never had the hair trimmed near her eyes and it lays flat nicely. Actually, she's never had a haircut other than tipping her ears and trimming near her backside. I don't trust groomers after hearing all of the horror stories on YT, and prefer the look of a full coat. Luckily, Belle has a slow growing silk coat Just be patient with growing the hair out near her eyes, once it gets long enough it will lay flat and you won't have to worry about it

| I want to grow Rosie's out but have had groomers cut it when I say I want to grow it out. I am starting over now and hope it goes fast! lol I think the girls especially look more girly with it frown our and the boys are cute with it all trimmed. Just me though.

| I've been growing Bogey and Pebbles hair out forever. But I have to say that their eyes seem much cleaner as the hair gets longer. It's also easier to clean the little bit of eye gunk they now get. Doodlebug still has the short hair and I will always keep it that way. He's just not meant to have long hair or a topknot.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I keep Ruby and Reno's facial hair uncut and it lays down as it should. It does take awhile to grow out, and until it does you just have to be patient, and use hair products (suggested above) to keep the wild hairs down. My foster boy Jack, has an eye that didn't form correctly, so to help camouflage his little flaw, I cut his facial hair fairly short.

| We are almost to the point where I can hold all the pieces back. I currently still have a few strands that escape. |

| Both of mine have it short by the eyes, but honestly that started with the vet telling me to cut it short every time we saw her. Mine do both get bad eye gunk and I think it seems easier to keep them clean when the hair is cut around their eyes. I am going to trying using nursery water with them to see if it helps with the gunk, so I may grow it out if it works.

| I cut the hair by Levi's eyes because I am impatient. I would LOVE to grow it out and have it lay flat nicely, but his hair was VERY short when I got him. I've tried to let it grow several times, but I get frustrated with the hairs constantly in his eyes, and eventually have the groomer trim around the eyes. I'm going to try again.

| It's the hardest point when it's just long enough to poke them in the eye but not long enough to lay down. I'll admit I cut Uni's out of frustration before, but eventually I let it grow out. It lays down for the most part, but since her hair is so fine it does tend to break easily, then that part will be broken, usually at the part when I clip it. Now Chloe and Smokey's had their's cut short and I'm growing it out. Their's are fanning out, and it looks so cute. Kind of like Dexter's hair cut, minus the long flowing ear hair. I use Pet Silk Top Knot gel and that also helps to kind of "glue" down the hair. I always was afraid of trimming the eye hair, having the scissors so close to the eye ball.=/

Thor's Human Donating Member | I've let Thor's hair grow all the way out, but it actually got stuck in his eyes even more. His hair is so light, the ends fly up and get trapped in his eyes all the time. I let his whiskers get long and hang down, but the hair on his nose and around his eyes is short. I have a pair of kids scissors with a blunt nose. I cut his hair probably once or twice per week.

| I cut Jackson's short. Since I keep his hair short, and no topknot, I wonder what it would look like to grow the hair out around the eyes? Does anyone have a picture? It is very annoying because it seems that hair grows fairly fast and I need to cut it myself in between the groomer but I get so nervous doing it. So it happens about once every 2-3 weeks probably.
