| Do Your Dogs Sleep in a Topknot Cooper's hair is finally getting long enough that it almost fits properly in a topknot. It's also at the length where it must be pulled up to avoid completely covering his eyes. But, at night I'm not sure if I'm supposed to just let his hair down, or keep it up in a soft topknot. I know that when I had longer hair and would wear ponytails it would feel so good to take it out and just let my hair loose. However, if I do that with Cooper, when he wakes up he has a couple of little wet strands that must have gotten in his eye or nose So to those of you who's babies wear topknots: do you take them out at night or do they sleep with them in?

| I use the smallest size terry cloth hair bands unless we are going out. Amazon.com: 6 Packs of 24 GOODY Terry Pony-o's... My guys sleep in them too. I don't put their topknots in tight even when I use bands.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali and Roxie sleep in theirs. If I took them down they wouldn't be able to see. I just cut Nikki's off since and Pixie doesn't have one.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey sleeps in topknot most nights. I don't keep the topknot as tight though. Joey's breeder said you should be able to slide a metal comb between topknot and skull, and I loosen this a bit more at night. Your story reminds me of my youth, my mother had my pony tail so tight, I loved it high and tight, but it did feel good when it came down at night. If you just loosely tie up a ponytail though, you should feel no difference when you take the band off.

| ZoE almost always has her topknot in at night. Although, if it's starting to look a lil rough and will need to be redone, I'll take it out and let her sleep without it and put a new one in first thing in the morning. ZoE will be 25 weeks old this Thursday, so I'm she's still in topknot training She's doing great and doesn't mess with her bows at all or try to get them out.

| I just started growing out Princess' hair on top so I finally can do a topknot. I like to leave it super loose all of the time so I hope it doesn't bother her at night. I think the comfort of taking it out may be more for us since we sleep on the back of our heads, where the dogs usually sleep with their head up or to the side.

| yes, most nights Peyton sleeps with one in. just a band, not a bow. but i'd like to try those terry ones. My groomer said she needs to have her hair tied up so otherwise her eyes would get irritated and she couldnt see good.

| Yes, but I just use the terry cloth bands wrapped loosely also. I'm always concerned she can't see without her scrunchie and will fall off her bed stairs when she gets up during the night.

| Cali sleeps with her terry scrunchie type at night. It is too long to just let hang loose. |

| I'll have to get some of those soft scrunchies. Coop's hair is still in an awkward in between stage where I can sort of leave it down during the night but probably shouldn't. Thanks for all the input!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Like I mentioned to you earlier, I was thinking for days about starting this exact same thread! Marcel and Pfeiffer wear those teensy hair clips/claws..the itty bitty ones - and I do leave those in bc otherwise, like Patti mentioned, their hair would be in their eyes and a disaster. I've tried taking them out at night, but then I wonder if all that hair in their faces bothers them. Wylie doesn't *do* a topknot bc he is just too...well, Wylie.

| Pebbles usually keeps the topknot at night. Bogey is a toss up if I take it out or not.
