				   | I use the 3/8 blade on mine this time of year. We are 5 blocks from the lake and it makes it easier to get the sand out of them & they dry faster if they're short. Also, we have a large Oak tree that shades the yard and it poops alot of crap that stays outside if they don't have long hair to bring it inside. I'll trim them again in July/August and then they grow out until next April.

				   | No matter what time of the Year or Season all 3 of my Yorkies have a Long, full coat of Hair! I work so hard to Groom, Condition and grow their Hair all Year long to maintain what they do have I'm definitely NOT Shaving any of it off! They wear Clothes all the time too, depending on the Weather. It keeps them cleaner for a longer period of time, I would rather wash their Clothes then Bathe them all the time. I wake-up early to "Walk" them to beat the Heat of the Day, and in the Evening when it's Cooler. I don't even bother taking them out between noon and 7 pm. it's too Hot! Besides they do NOT have an Under Coat like other Breeds, their Hair is the only thing that keeps them warm in the Winter and Cool in the Summer as well as protect their Skin from getting "Sun Burned". The reason I got a Yorkie to begin with was b/c of the way they looked.....Topknot and all! I have seen so many Yorkies that DO NOT look like Yorkies? I only trust myself to do all their Grooming, so I do appreciate the way they Look and I don't mind all the Compliments either, I should do Commercials for "Cowboy Magic Detangler & Shine"

				   | I shave Buddy down with a 1/4" blade. His back feels like velvet but leave his legs long and the top of his head long. I also cut the face shorter. He loves it and so do I. He still looks like a Yorkie and he's cool and it's so easy to keep him looking groomed all the time. |

				   | Penny is too fond of running through brambles and rolling in everything she can find, so I keep her in a puppy cut during the spring through the fall. I let it grow a little longer in the winter time.

				   | Being a new yorkie owner, I'm a bit nervous of growing my dog's hair too long. I don't want it to be too heavy or have it get matted. I keep it on the short side so it doesn't get too dirty. He gets a bit crazy when I take him to the dog park... |

				   | Zoe stays in a puppy cut. It is easier and cooler for her since we live in Florida. |

| My Little Man! Donating Member | I leave it long and beautiful. When Maxi visits the groomer, she just trims it a little (evens everything out).

				   | I keep Wiggy's hair long and beautiful all year round. He's mostly a pampered inside dog, so it doesn't matter. I usually walk him during the early morning or early evening, while the heat is lower. I have a fenced backyard, but Wiggy doesn't play there very much. He just takes care of business and runs back to the door. |

				   | I would love to have my pups have the Long Yorkie coat, but Sasha Hair is wavey and mates, Bree mates and Petey can't seem to get a coat. So I have all 3 with a short body cut, a top knot with a short to medium beard. I just love to get wet kiss after Sasha drinks hr water!! |

				   | I just got Sophie a puppy cut thinking I'd like it better for summer, but I don't like it. :-( I've got to wait for it to grow back out. It does make grooming easier, but I liked it longer, and her's wasn't that long anyhow. |

| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Great poll! I'm surprised to see so many shave! I keep Eddie relatively short summer and winter. In the winter, snow clings to long hair. In the summer, I don't have the patience it takes to keep long hair looking nice.
