| I think it depends how they are raised, I have a yorkie and a few paps and when I got them they all had their share of barks! Now, they don't really bark unless my little one comes up the stairs in the middle of the night or for other reasons like that. I believe that they can be trained like children. My dogs know that I am not into the barking and once they are used to my routine, they now know better!

| I ticked 'occasionally' - Twinkle barks when someone knocks on the door or if she's over-excitedly playing but she stops if I say 'enough' She's very loud for a small dog! xxx xxx

| I'm happy that this question was asked because I was gonna ask the same thing. I was kind of worried because my Travey Waavey only barks if he see another dog being walked and he's in the house. I've only heard him bark 5-6 times the most and my baby is almost a year old.

| Momo barks at his silly self in the mirror & when his squeeky ball ends up under the couch. Mimi barks when my neighbor's German Shepherd barks, & when a cat happens to pass by in our backyard. They both crazy-bark when the doorbell rings or when any of our family member comes home.

| Nia thinks its a clever idea that when it is time to get up (between 7:30-8am) she just must jump off the bed and stand in the doorway barking. Her bark is so very loud. Tanj and Febi know the rules that you must stay on the bed until I put them down. |

| Yorkie Yakker | This is such a cute thread. My Penny doesn't bark at all except when we are training her. If you tell her to 'sit' and then 'stay' she will do as told but she can't stay there too long. Especially if you have a treat! So she will yap a little to tell you that she did what she was supposed to. Lately, my husband and I are training her without a treat so she won't be condition to bark when we are training her. Instead we are using her chew toy and it worked. I've had rotweiller and chihuahua growing up and I think the chihuahua was the noisiest of all! |

| Bree barks at every thing. Just yesterday I opened the window and a fly came into the house and she went crazy. She also loves to bark when I'm talking on the phone, ironing clothes, riding my stationary bike, when the door bell rings, when she hears an unfamiliar voice, and the list goes on. She is very noisy but luckily no one has ever complained about it.

| Chloe rarely ever barks. I thought she was going to be a barker when we first brought her home, but after the first night she hasn't had any trouble. |

| she hardly ever barks. She hates 1 of our mailmen seriously she only barks at 1 of the guys & not the other one! She also barks at only 1 of our neighbors entire families I guess she doesn't like the whole family! LOL But she loves everyone else in the neighborhood. She doesn't bark when we come home either but she takes off like a shot & wiggles herself silly at the door! She does kiss us way to much though!!!!!!!!!!(Just kidding) |

| My Bella barks if she wants me to hold her, but she can't get to me! If I am sitting at my desk and she is on the couch next to me, but can't jump to me she barks until I pick her up! I actually find it very sweet! She also barks at other dogs barking whether on TV or in person, which is pretty understandable. That is about all she barks at ever! She is definitely NOT a yapper! We had a Pomapoo before this and that is all he did was bark! I was a little afraid of getting another small dog, because of the way he was.......nonstop barking from sun up to sun down! |
