Photo theme weeks

Thank you Sbyork. What in the world is that flower? It is beautiful. I have never seen anything like that before. I have been working really hard on learning the manual settings on my camera. It's an old Canon Digital Rebel Xt. I want to upgrade, but I keep telling myself, not until I learn to get good shots on manual settings. LOL. (I ordered and have been reading the books that lisaly recommends). Anyway, I can't remember if these pictures were on manual or not, I think they were. They say you should write everything down, but who has time to do that like in your case when a bobcat is crossing the road or a bee is in the air? LOL. I too love to carry a little point and shoot. In some cases they are just so much handier.

The flower is a night blooming cactus. I actually took the pic last year. If you don't get the pic before the sun comes up it's gone! It's blooms only last 1 night and part of the morning.
I know what you mean about setting and writing things done but I forget to write them down. Last month when we had the hugh full moon I wanted a pic and was fooling with the different setting. Still was not happy but closer then normal!
I have been a professional portrait photographer for years BUT those were mostly all the same when a studio situtation. I am now working on starting my business for pets and family done in there home or out in the natuarl settings of the desert. People want to know what is keeping me from going. I am always afraid of dissappointing someone. I am soooo Picky about my dog pics.

Sbyork and ChaCha...LOVE the bee on flower pics! Awesome!!! Never thought about getting pics of them...I'll have to try that soon.

Thanks for the compliment on my horse picture. I LOVE him so much. He has such a gentle soul.

Loving the flower and bee pics! I looked today -- not a single wildflower growing yet! I did see ONE dandelion, however, in a field that will be full of them in a week or two.

So no spring pics for me!

That's OK! we are headed for summer and really didn't have a pretty spring this year. Last year was wonderful but the rains were not at the right time this year

My little Japanese Maple. Planted it last spring and I am so surprised how well it took off.

WOW that Japenese Maple is beautiful, wonder if it would grow in AZ1 I'm looking for another shade tree!

second is of my grandsons eyelashes!! Haha...he should have been a girl!!
third is of my blueberries in the making!!
and last but not least my boy Jake!! (beagle)
