Photo theme weeks

Gorgeous sunrise pics. Stunning!

I was trying to think back on what themes we've had. Does anyone know something we have NOT done?

Have we done?
Action (my worst enemy)
Landscape (anything involving a landscape close or far)
Reflection/Shadow (we've had some great mirror pictures so this may be a duplicate)

We could also do a "word" theme, where a word is posted and you can interperate the word however you want in the form of a picture. Like "bubbles." Those are fun challenges.
Just throwing out some ideas. I love this thread because it keeps me thinking and using my camera.

Another idea along this line...kind of a photography "game" would be to use the "word" theme and each week post a new thread for that theme each Monday, so the single word would be the title of the new thread each week then you post your picture for that theme. I don't know...I just don't want to see this die out.

I'm still working on the Spring/Closeup assignment. I may have to use old pictures, since it looks like Spring isn't coming this year! I have to do a little search, I think I have some good closeups of butterlies somewhere.

sounds good to me too, but, in the meantime i want to share this picture of this little blue bird! He was in one of our pines out front and i quickly got the zoom lens on him. I only had one shot, before he took off!

Loving all the new pics! Hey, I think everyone is getting better!

Sbyork, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE desert shots! Funny, I spent much of my youth in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and I'm a diehard fan of big mountains, big green trees, waterfalls and lakes. But something about the desert grips me. Went on a field trip to the Mojave when I was in college, and it was a spiritual experience, camping out in this entirely new environment for me. I haven't had many opportunities to visit desert country since, but I'm a big fan of desert pics.

I like the word theme, and "bubbles" could be fun! Just tossing out some possible other words: Water, blue, serene, happy, sad, angry. (Feel free to join in the suggestions!)

Another fun assignment I remember from a college class was "something missing, something gained." It's pictures where something you would expect to be there is missing -- and example was a kid holding a balloon. Instead of the kid's head where you'd expect it, the balloon was there. Here's another example:

Sorry, I figured so many still hadn't posted close up pics that tend to post that we'd wait for some additional pics, but we do need a new theme.

I was thinking since so many members will be traveling the next couple weeks w/ vacations, graduations, and the holiday coming up that maybe we could do travel theme or an architecture theme or maybe city sky line or landscape if you will.

I love all these ideas. I need to put them in a hat and draw randomly.
