They really are stunning trees. I always imagine the big ones have quite a story they could tell with what they've seen pass by over the years. I know they sure can give a person the creeps when you are fishing on a river and all you hear is the slight rustle of the cottonwood leaves, water topped with floating cotton, snakes, and trees webbed together with spiders as you slowly float along waiting for a bite with the feeling that someone is up there along the banks........watching you..... I feel like someone should jump out and yell "BOO!" right about now. LOL....

The closeup of bark looks like a bird to me.

The yellow leaf was kinda boring, so I tried making rest of pic B&W.

Eddie sure is cooperative for you when it comes to pictures! I especially like the one where he is peering out the side.

This was sort of a lesson in futility. Noticed a flock of geese at the park, so I left the dogs home in hopes of getting some good pics. But geese are timid suckers. I walked around them so I could get the light falling on them, but as I tried to move closer, they inched farther away. It was like they had a protective bubble around them.

I thought of racing out into the middle of them with the good light on them, but decided that would be harassment. These guys have thousands of miles to fly, and they don't need some yahoo like me interrupting their rest.

I'd finally given up and moved to the shadow side of them when a bunch of them took off right in front of me. I snapped away, and these shots were the best I could get. Would have been much better if I had the sun falling on them instead of their bodies in shadows.

Oh well, consider these "tree" pictures with geese in the way!

OK, last one on the tree theme for me. I promise! Jillie wanted a shot at the double trees, and since it's grooming day I couldn't say no.

We had some sun today, but that actually made the task more difficult. Her face was in more of a shadow. I played around with it in photoshop and think I have the tones where I like them.

One was a tree found at a park while on a photography walk

The second photo is a tree that is called the "honking tree" since I was little (and way before that) it has been said if you honk at it, and look back a angel will get its wings...different stories for different families

Sorry, went on a trip to Canada and the whole baseball thing does take up hours when games aren't rescheduled
