| Minus the red wine, thyme, and tomato paste, this is exactly what I prepared for my son for today....put all the above ingredients in my slow cooker, along with the seasoned roast also sprinkled and rubbed on both sides with a package of Au Jus gravy mix from McCormick and 1/3 cup water, set cooker on 8 hours and turned on at 2:30am when we went to bed....lunch was served at 11am today! I also fixed some zucchinni and yellow squash mixed and steamed, some green beans, and fresh fruit salad and hot rolls. With 4 teeth left in my head following full mouth extraction, preparing for implants and bridges, I had apple sauce, pudding, and some strawberry ice cream...... |

My momma made this for many, many years....we have grown up on this, and it is so very special to my brother, my son and I.... Of course, we serve rice with some of that gravy produced with the delicious tender roast.....I make this every single time my brother comes down to visit us....he is touched by the memory of momma that goes lovingly, peacefully, quietly with this meal..... Looking forward to my baby brother coming home for my birthday for a week @ end of April!!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 03-18-2016 at 02:41 PM. | |
