| My brother lives in Albuquerque, N.M. and they often now have tamales for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, along with the turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie. We had a girl at work who would often bring up a whole pan of tamales before each Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday as long as she worked there. Her family was from Mexico and she said they always made them along with traditional dishes for the Holidays all her life.

| It is a sweet tradition to start. He said they have Mexican-Americans selling tamales and Indians from New Mexico tribes selling their traditional foods who have roadside stands on the highways and byways all during the Holidays. He tries them all. Others sell their tamales and traditional foodwares to the food chains. I think now, Tim and his wife, Peggy, make their own version. They cook venison in turkey, too!

I think one of the reasons I have never had duck is that whenever I have Chinese food, I always go for the shrimp. I agree with your reason for cooking birds inside of birds: because we can. Maybe an argument could be made for flavor enhancement of one bird or the other. Saves room in the oven too.

| Well the family is doing the traditional turkey thing but we plan to add a chicken breast and a baked potato with no seasoning for a certain Yorkie to enjoy!

![]() As for shrimp, we did have the honey walnut shrimp. That's one of my all time fave Chinese dishes. Breaded deep fried (huge) shrimp covered in a mayo sauce with candied walnuts and sesame seeds. That's as sweet as I'll go, but omg I love that. One of the more pricier Chinese dishes though.
