| I might go out for Italian for lunch tomorrow just so I can order Tiramisu for dessert, now that it's been talked about so much. Wow, it is so, so good when done right. Tiramisu & a lovely cup of exquisitely brewed coffee from a good restaurant with a handsome waiter.....

| I have to tell you a funny story about making tiramisu. I teach food production in a middle school. We were making tiramisu for a luncheon. I had the students make the lady fingers...we made 50 cookies. I left the on the counter, covered so the next day we could finish the tiramisu. The custodians ate them. The hard lady fingers are not that food just plain.. But they ate all of them ![]() I guess because I had them on trays on the counter I was gifting them.. I was not happy. So...could your bake your own lady fingers?

| My mom uses the softish ones, and her recipe is awesome. She gets hers from big lots usually, it is a clear package and has bright orange on it. I would try and look and shape and consistency of cookie on package or through package as opposed to what they call it, if you can. Call me biased but I'm not sure i'd even try a recipe made with twinkies-heavy cream, ricotta cheese, and twinkies? *shudders* Keep a keen eye out, and don't despair, you will find them eventually |

I'm sure I could bake my own, but I like to take the easy way out, whenever possible! ![]() ![]() Quote:

| If they don't have them now, they may get them in later as their stock sometimes changes. |

| I wanted to mention, if you make this in a bowl, you can sort of line the bowl with the lady fingers so they'll be on the outside. Presentation would be more like a pudding then, unless you want to just barely freeze it so you can flip the bowl upside down and slide it out carefully. |
