Remember CaptNoonie or whatever her user name was, from California and those take-out food icon pictures she'd frequently change so that every post she made there stared that scrumptious-looking food at you! And just when you were drooling, she'd change to a new, tastier-looking picture! I went to bed starving many a night after her posts! I love good garlic bread. Just made myself some buttery Texas toast! So full of butter it was heavy!

| ![]() IDK but a hot, buttered piece of Texas toast tastes worlds better than green beans or kale salad. Why can't it be opposite? Why can't real buttered toast or fried chicken and chcolate malts cause weight loss, green beans and salad be fattening? I love veggies, mostly live off only vegetables and fruit with the once weekly junk food meal, which always tops any of the vegs or fruit or salds that take 30 mins. to make by the time I'm done washing, chopping/slicing veggies and fruits to go on the Spring Mix greens. And then Extra Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Apple Vinegar dressing! But simple, easily made buttery Texas toast all by itself let alone dripped in rich, homemade cream gravy beats it ALL!

| ![]() Slice of double-pepperoni pizza. I've gone junk food junkie this past week or so. Even had an old-fashioned Butterfinger yesterday! Time to return to sane eating.

| ![]() Haven't straightened out yet, just polished off a good bit of Brach's Corn Candy, so fresh and soft and sweet I kinda kept going too long. Now, like a kid, I feel sick to my stomach. All I can still taste corn candy, even after brushing and brushing my teeth!

| ![]() Agree! Leftovers next day are th!e best. And you didn't have to go through all the work of gathering all the ingredients, the bowls, tools, pots & pans, etc., the measuring and slicing, chopping, etc., more measuring, mixing, stirring, spilling(!) and cooking and watching, timing them! Then comes the clean-up! Next day, leftovers consist of a simple heat-up, serve and enjoy. Plus, they just usually always taste better for whatever reason.

| ![]() Oh yes. I've rarely made chili from scratch but the time or two I did, it was a mess and it never tasted quite right. You either have the art of chili-making or you don't. I know my shortcomings and they are many when it comes to cooking. I was pretty good at plain bread baking from scratch, I mean you can barely go wrong there unless you can't knead well or over/under bake it. I can make a mean steak, pot roast, beans, casseroles, fluffy scrambled eggs, fry bacon, do scratch soups but that's about it. I can't boil a decent egg nor do lasagna from scratch. I'd rather starve than try to do lasagna again from scratch. I'll just drink sweet tea and go hungry for that meal as the work outweighs the results for me. Started lasagna from scratch once and just gave up, threw the messed up dough away and put rest of ingredients, tools up, cleaned up the kitchen and finally ate a PB&J sandwich which I couldn't finish, poured myself some sweet iced tea. Couldn't even manage to pull something ready-made and frozen from the freezer. I was way too spent and demoralized.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Well we had leftover lasagna tonight not seafood one. Lamb n pork. I always make extras one I cook they get popped in the freezer and viola when I can't cook freezer here I come🙂. Tomorrow I do mainly homemade pizza. I buy the bread dough for it. Make my own sauce, and use our garden veges, that is when we have a garden season. Lol Toronto da North. I shop at a fruit n vege place. They import most of their fresh veges. At least in winter to late spring. When I lived at the Ashram, my job was to help tend our gardens. Then the residents found out I can cook! But the baked goods were in high demand🙂. Cheesecake, chocolate cake, fudge, pound cake, croißants etal. The cost of my cookies? They had to attend my 5 30am yoga class. Half showed and half slept through it. Teehee. Fond memories of that place!
