| Thanks to the "Iced Tea" thread, I put a pinch of baking soda in the tea and it really sweetened it up - quite a bit less acidic taste. I like my iced tea pretty strong but that also sometimes means awfully bitter, too, depending upon the tea leaves themselves and how long I brewed it. And it's a bitterness that no amount of sugar seems to overcome - but the soda does!

| Addicted to the Green Smoothies....Yummy....Been doing the 10-day Green Smoothie. Cleanse by JJ Smith and losing weight Yah!! Didn't think I would like it but my sister convinced me to try it. I never thought that mixing spring mix, spinach or Kale with frozen fruit was going to taste so good. I think that once I finish with the 10 days I will stick to having one for breakfast.

| Though I am envious of harrysmum (when am I not envious of the meals you post?!) I am pleased to say we just returned home from a fabulous day at the county fair and a tad ill to admit that today's diet was: cereal, Taco Bell, cookies n cream milkshake, an elephant ear and some cotton candy. At least we ate a corn dog and an onion flower at the county fair last weekend- geesh! but it was super fun and we won't see it again til next year so until then....

| Tonight my little Vikings and I (with lilahs accompaniment and supervision of course) gathered most of our dinner from the garden. We picked beets, lettuces, various tomatoes (mostly cherry style, mostly sun golds), carrots, slicing cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, zucchini, and a ton of surprise August strawberries! We made a major salad (I topped mine with tender steak from a recent BBQ and delicious blue cheese) and had beet greens sautéed in butter with onions and garlic, fried zucchini and corn on the cob (mine is still growing so that didn't come from our garden- yet). We topped off dinner with a dessert of strawberries and blueberries covered in cream and sugar and I will proudly note my six year old begged for me to cook four little overlooked beet greens before he ate his berries (I happily obliged). I hope that makes up for our fair day indulgences of yesterday! Lol.
