| We have a Five Guy's Burger that just opened not too long ago here where I live in Texas. Also on the other side Dallas Frisco and Allen Texas they just opened two In and Out Burger's with about 7 more to be opening later on. I here they will opening one in my neck of the woods. My favorite Burger and Fries when I eat them are the Braums Bugers and the Crinkle Fries.

| I do not like Five Guys. The one and only time hubby and I ate at the local one and both of us got sick. Our Five Guys split - didn't last long. |

| I've eaten Five Guys a few times and personally, I love their burgers. They make it right in front of you which I like and the fries... you could actually tell they came from a potato...lol. So thumbs up for me, but that has just been my experience.

| I just got out to Texas and never had Five Guys or Whatabburger before- they were ok, I have to say though, by far Mooyah is the best new burger place we have tried. Also I'm from california and IMHO In-N-Out is over rated, they just got one out here in Texas and people are going crazy about it and I'm like "yawn" lol. Maybe it's because I'm used to it and it's nothing specail to me, I dunno. I am excited to try more places out here though, I do love a good burger

| I'm ho-hum about In N Out as well. I think they are lettuce burgers. However, you want a good burger, go to Fuddruckers!

| I am crazy for 5 guys. I love the single burgers, with tomato, lettuce, grilled onions and raw onions (Can you tell i like onions?) and mayo. I love to go there when i can convince hubby. We only eat out on Saturdays now due to dd keeping us all on diets. We take turns picking each week and we each have a veto on places or type of food. dd does not like burgers so . The fries are pretty good if they are the seasoned ones though I can not eat many at a time. For fries, I love steak and shake!

| I like 5 guys and the fries. My son likes the idea you can throw the peanut shells all over the floor. But instead of these places making kids obese they blame it on the school lunchroom. I really prefer Steak and Shake also.

Btw on the topic of good burgers. Im always on a trek to find that great elusive burgers and have tired gourmet, high end places like Hodads, The counter, Burger Lounge grass fed, on n on but for some reason don't feel satisfied. I think it's the quality of the beef. IMO the best burgers were the ones from the late 70's - mid 80's at yes...carl's jr, Mcdonalds, burger king. My god I still remember that fresh real beef aroma from big macs and famous stars, soo good. Today these very same burgers I don't even bother anymore because for one they don't even taste like beef. The quality is lone gone with mass produced cows filled with hormones and whateve else junk they give them. And which is why I think even at a quality high end place like the Counter Im not impressed. I know that was 20-30 yrs ago but I also know it's not my imagination. Your senses remember and it doesn't lie. Last edited by apple718; 07-19-2011 at 07:15 PM. | |

| Yes you are right, it's the beef that makes the difference. Fudds is just SO soft and juicy, and I like that you can tell them how you want it cooked. I also love that they have different sizes. At In n Out if you want a bigger burger, it's the same tiny patty multiplied, but at Fudds you get a overall larger patty, the "bite" is just different. Also their buns! OMG they are so good! I have read several articles saying that the "high end" burger joints are a fad and will fade out soon. They named Five Guys as one of them. The one that open just up the street for example, been opened a few months, now you go in there is NEVER a line. When they first opened, it was lines out the door non stop. They just aren't *that* good. BF likes them, likes you get free toppings, so I went in and got him one. I asked them if they could wrap it in paper instead of foil, they said no, we don't have paper. I would have taken it in a paper towel, I don't care. Foil traps in the steam and makes the buns soggy.

| Tried Five Guys once- wasn't impressed. I LOVE Fatburger when I am out west, otherwise not a huge fan of burgers.

| I love Fatburger bc you can get a fried egg on it! Yum! And I really like their mayo. It's light, but has a very mayo taste. I need to ask them what brand it is. Watch, it'll turn out to be Miracle Whip!
