Please Pray for Zoey

These roller coaster emotions are so difficult to bear--to get exuberant when there is such great news, only for emotions to come crashing down if there is a setback. But this is such great news, and please don't give up hope. I will keep praying for your beautiful girl and her very special family.

I'm just now reading this and I'm so terribly sorry! None of us wants to hear that cancer word! I know you are doing everything you can. Cancer sucks! Wish they would find a cure for it!

Hello. So sorry to hear your little Zoey is going through this. Our little one was just confirmed with lymphoma yesterday I know the overwhelming amount of questions, concerns, and worry you are going through. I would love to stay in contact and compare notes on their chemo treatments and progress which treatment plan did your family decide on? pls message me if this is something you would be interested in. I am very happy to hear Zoey is showing positive signs of improvement. Praying she is having a good weekend and that the good news keeps coming.

I know it is hard managing emotions when facing these circumstances. I like Mike's approach, although it is difficult to practice, and that is to simply love these furbabies while we have them.

WE are following the Madison-Wisconsin Protocol. She had her fourth chemo last MOnday - I can look up all the drugs names but the last one was Doxy... and she has had two of vincristine. The doxy is the strongest drug so far, she had to have a echocardiogram first. Also she is on predisone, and a stomach coater and a nausea/diarrehea pill.

I'm very sorry to hear of your little one. She was ddx'd at Stage IV b) -

Zoey so far has seemed to respond to this last drug. I can't palpate any swellings right now - she is due back in on Thurs. How-ever she has had several bouts of diarrehea. Also her steroids have been increased so....we are not too sure at this time how to interpret her response.

Thankfully her appetite is back on, and she maybe putting back on some weight.

I hope Zoey's appetite continues like it is now. She is responding to all of the ways you give her love, are committed to your beautiful girl, and how you are protecting her. You are cooking her good, healthy food, and Zoey feels safe with her mom and dad. It is a beautiful thing to be able to share your love with a dog who fills your heart with unconditional love. It has been a long time for me without my little ones, but that powerful love remains in my heart always. Because of you and Jackie, I will know that special love again with Kate. I hope that your heart feels lighter tomorrow and that you spend some more loving time with your precious Zoey.

Glad to hear Zoey is eating, and praying she does put some weight back on, and that the diarrhea has resolved or will soon. Praying that Thursday will bring great news.

Such good news about Zoey!! This is wonderful! Now, are they thinking about stem cells if.....NO, NOT "IF", BUT WHEN!!!!..when she goes into remission, are they then going to do stem cells?? Continuing to send up prayers for both you and Zoey, and POSITIVE thoughts!!! I can only imagine the emotional turmoil you are going thru....praying for continued stabilization for Zoey, giving you an even keel and the opportunity to move away from that "powder keg" you must feel you are sitting on.....

Oh Gosh what would I do without you guys? Okay Zoey is due in today for oncologist. Unfortunately I've now palpated some swellings. At least I think I did. That if true is not good news....

Stem Cell is Not done in Canada as far as I know - my brief research into it says that it can only be applied to dogs in remission, and Zoey well is not. Plus another google or two seem to indicate 12-15K for the treatment .... Geesh.

We shall see what the oncologist says today, because last treatment she indicated if Zoey's swellings did not ALL go down and stay down for at least that wk, that well, she is not hopefull for Zoey's prognosis. She basically last wk was preparing us for losing Zoey.

Hubby and I have talked and talked and talked about this situation. We feel we know what we can do and want to do, for a couple of different scenarios. There are many factors here, including the human emotion toll. This is not something that is easily cured, or indeed has high cure rates. Gosh I wish it was as simple as getting LP or even FHO surgery. Even LS surgery. But that is not our situation. As much as it pains me to think of this and to share this, we are prepared to let Zoey go if indeed she has not been fully responsive to the last mega chemo treatment. Zoey despite being fed 3lbs which is 1lb more of food a day, appears not to have gained weight. That in and of itself is very worrisome. We will get her weight at the vets today and then I can tell more.

Well it is almost time for us to go. Once again I thank you all for your prayers and support.
