Jeannie thank you, but Zoey actually did not have surgery, but a chemo treatment. And we don't even want to go to a surgical necessity at the moment, as we were told in very clear terms, that if surgical intervention was the only option (think bowel obstruction for example), that she would not survive any surgery in her condition.

I want to thank everyone again, for your prayers and kind thoughts. Cancer and the treatments for same can be a long and drawn out process.

There is no quick or even long term fix for this cancer. The vast majority of dogs ddx'd with this die.

We (my husband and I) find ourselves in a land of shifting shadows, some light comes through, but in main the shadow of what can/might/would likely be is always there.

The light of our lives is to see her eating, to see that tail wagging, and to see her look and interact with a toy. She is still so dreadfully thin, part of course is that we clipped off her coat, but her spine is still so awfully boney and her ribs so prominent.

She is not playing with our other pups, at least not yet. She is smart to know that she is too weak to go through the rough and tumble of play with our big boy. And sigh, he keeps asking her for play. But I thank God, my boy is a kind soul, and somehow learnt from early on, to just do the play bow, and not to go aggressively to others to play. Ps: I wish my Yorkie would learn that. lol

Gail I am so thankful that Zoey is feeling better and eating more. My heart just breaks for you and what she is going through. I hope that you can feel some peace from the prayers surrounding you both. ((hugs))

I am so happy to hear you are seeing some small improvements and tail wagging is a good sign! Zoey is so blessed to have you and I know your love and strength are going to help her through this. You are a great furmom, and we are sending continue prayers for healing for Zoey and hugs for her mommy and family.

Praying for you and Zoey and just know that God is still on His throne and answering prayer. I know, because we have alittle 14yr. laying in there that was healed when she was 1yr. old . I know prayer changes things. Its hard because we don't always know the future, but, God does and He has Zoey's life in His hands. I pray He will lead and guide you in to how to care for her and to give the vets knowledge and wisdom and that she will have a breakthrough in this and come out healed and whole. She is so fortunate to have you and the knowledge you have. God bless you and your husband for your caring and love for Zoey and I pray the very best for her. Bless you Zoey.

I have felt such a gamut of emotions since I heard of Zoey's illness, and my heart breaks for all that you are feeling, experiencing, and coping with. I still pray that you can hold onto hope, even if that means sharing many more wonderful moments with your beautiful Zoey and her having a really good quality of life . I know what it's like trying to do everything within our power to help a baby knowing there isn't a cure for the illness, yet holding on so desperately and loving so deeply. I understand how difficult this is for you to bear, I care so much, and I hope to help in any way possible. As you continue your journey to help your beautiful Zoey, my respect and admiration for you continues to grow, as well as my love for you. You give to your babies with all of your heart and soul, and the love you share with them is truly heartwarming. Your Magic is such a special boy, but I know it is also because of the time you have shared together with your boy. I imagine you both have learned about love and tenderness from each other. I wish for you much love, far more light than shadows, strength, comfort, health, and peace. sending healing prayers to zoey and you// i know what you are going through i had to put my male jack russell to sleep last year because he had cancer not lymphoma/ i cant spell it but there was no treatment that we could do so we just took him home and he lasted 6 months

Thank you MaryKay. Zoey is coming along very well; she is showing signs of her old sparkle.

The swellings have shrunk a LOT! She is now bounding around, barking madly (as she sometimes does), and brought a toy to me for play

Her middle doesn't look as thick anymore, and she has put on some weight. Also no incontinence over Sat night or all day Sunday!. And she has a great appetite too.

Her eyes are still bloodshot though, but nowhere near as glassy.

All of your prayers have given her medicine wings!. There is still a funny kind of high pitched bark she is using. It is one I've only ever heard her use to ask for play when she is very very excited. But late Sunday, I heard a deeper sounding bark from her. I think that is very good news, maybe the swelling over the thyroid had changed the working of her vocal chords.

She has a lot of her sparkle back. On Wednesday we go again to the oncologist for another treatment and of course her examination.
