she said to always ship to address on paypal invioce. Also get a tracking #.
and said you should have gotten a email from paypal with a expanation.

I have had to change my paypal account 2 times, becuase my information was stolen. So now I have a paypal account, but its not my normal bank account. I only put money in this account when I am buying something. My everyday bank account doens't have paypal linked to it.

I've heard so many stories about paypal which is why we don't even use them as a payment option. Sounds fishy with that customer. If she really was having paypal issues, she'd say let me take care of it and send you a payment via an alternate route immediately. At least that's what I would do.

Call Paypal....they make it real hard to find their phone number on their website. I called them in the past and they were just very difficult to deal with and basically told me they couldn't help with my situation but hopefully you would have better luck. Plus, isn't there some sort of seller protection guarantee they have? I always mail out ALL items with shipping confirmation, worth the extra fees.

I'm curious to know if the customer retracted payment with their cc: I know with merchant accounts, if a customer makes a complaint, the cc company will deduct that fee from your bank but send you a letter and if you have proof it was sent, then you can dispute it and in essence that is what paypal is doing, acting as a 3rd party merchant account.

Good luck on this. This sucks when a customer rips you off if that is indeed the case.

Ok so you know if you have a tracking # and if you only send to the address paypal has then the will protect you. and unless Pypal emails you directley with a request Never answer a paypal email there are hackers and they are VERY smart, but pay pal will never ask for information in a email they will send it to your paypal account online and you have to beable to answer you sign in ?? for that.
I really hope all is ok for you. Oh and also the are a service yes they take a small % any service would.

this is the exact reason why i closed my paypal account. they buyer pays and gives you the time to ship whatever it was and then they reverse the payment. the hold on the funds is cause they are holding them to put back into her account.

but if you do it right acording to the paypal contract you are protected.

Default PayPal Happy Ending

The funds were re-instated. I don't know exactly what the problem was -- probably insufficient funds in her account.

I talked with "Ben" at PayPal. He was incredible nice, articulate and very Very VERY knowledgeable and patient with me. He answered every single question -- two or three times in different ways until he was thoroughly sure that I understood what happened. He also explained about the "Seller Protection" -- click on Legal Contracts at the bottom of your PayPal Page, then click on #11 Seller Protection. A few simple steps can safeguard you from losing money.

I AM A RE-NEWED PAYPAL FAN.

Thank you to everyone who offered opinions, advice and assistance. A special thank you to DaisyMae 06. I owe you girl!
