PayPal Issue This is a first for me. If anyone here has had this problem, I would appreciate some input. Please note that this situation DOES NOT involve a YorkieTalk member -- if it did I would contact them privately and discretelyto resolve the matter. On September 7th I received a payment. On September 12th that payment was reversed and a hold was placed upon the funds. What I can't understand is why it would take 5 days for an electronic transfer to bounce. The buyer contacted me and told me that they had "changed" their paypal account and that I should "try" again. Frankly I don't buy that. Paypal has always been very efficient in updating any change that I have made to my account. None of the options in the resolution area apply -- they need an option to that reads -- I just got ripped off by a customer I trusted. |
Perhaps they were having issues with their own paypal account, had a shady dealing on Ebay, were reported, and paypal put everything on hold till resolved???? Did you try their account again and if so, did it work?? |

Ive had this happen and now I always have to wait for payments to post/clear before even starting on an order. Is the transaction trying to go through again? because sometimes it will work the second time. |
Reason number 1 why I no longer use paypal. Check out paypalsucks.com I had paypal reverse a payment($2,000) for a laptop I sold. I sent it delivery confirmation, person signed for it(in the US) and then said that it was an unauthorized charge. I sent them all the information and tracking number etc. Luckily I had already transfered the funds to my bank account. My paypal account is now in the negative but I don't care because I would never use it again if you paid me! They were also no help when a seller ripped me off. I had to go through my charge card and months of waiting to have money returned to me. I repeat DO NOT USE PAYPAL!!!! You are giving a third party access to your credit cards and bank accounts. I ended up closing my 600 all positive ebay account and opened a new one that I only use with money orders or personal checks(which really limits my buying). Paypal takes a percentage of everything someone sends you but does not try to protect you at all. They're only in it for the money. Even if you use delivery confirmation the person can say that it wasn't their account or address or someone hacked into the system and changed everything. |
i think i may be off topic somehow, but i thought i'd add. i know that it takes 3-4 days to add funds to your paypal account from your bank account...would it have anything to do with that? i know i personally tell the seller i'm buying from that i'm waiting for funds to transfer from my bank account when buying. that way, there's no miscommunication. that stinks that it happened to you. i hope it gets resolved soon. |
PayPal does make mistakes ... I sent a donation and PayPal billed me twice ... and unless I went to the person I donated to and requested it back, I was "outta luck", which is what happened. How embarrassing can that be??? Another time it was with a reputable vendor here on YT and they cleared it up for me (YAY!!! BarkinDog) .... I try to avoid using it unless absolutely necessary! Is it possible they paid with an e-check and the check bounced? I hate checks in general. Let us know what they say. |

I have three options which are: I accept liability for this bank reversal I have already provided a refund I have shipped the items and can provide tracking information None of the choices really apply. I have contacted the buyer and am waiting for her response. Thank you for all of the GREAT suggrestions and well wishes. |

:lol tears I didn't realize that real human beings worked for PayPal -- I thought all of their "employees" were computers. |
