Angry Vent: Arrrggh!!! Sofa order jacked up!

I am about to explode! I need to vent, so I thought I'd post it here so I can blow off some steam. Don't you just hate it when stuff is screwed up?!!!

So back in like early June, we ordered a new sofa sectional--this one Options Sectional. Only, we ordered it the opposite direction, so the chaise would be on the opposite side, and we ordered it in a forest green.

Being a special order, it took this long to get it in. It came today, only they screwed it up. I was so nervous that they'd send it in the wrong direction. They got the direction right, but instead of the chaise at the end, they only sent an arm--meaning it just looks like a regular sofa end !!! So the delivery guy says that is what was ordered. Well, you know how they use special codes--they wrote up the order; I don't know what the order codes mean!!! So I have to wait until 10am pdt (another 40 minutes!!!) to call and chew them out!! It will probably take another 6+ weeks to get it replaced, since it is a special order fabric, and they'll prbably give me a load of bull saying it was ordered that way.

Time is moving so slow....arrgh!! I wanna scream!

Omg i dont blame you so sorry, that happen to me once , I ordered a whole new living room set and took the day off for the delvery so here i sat for hours waiting only to find out it never even came in, they didnt even call me to tell me oh was i mad, they gave me 200.00 off my set, so say someting to the manager and hopefully they will compensate you, good luck

I'm sorry. Talk to the manager, and if that doesn't work ask for the number of the District Manager.

I spoke to two different people this morning. The first guy said they did order it correctly, that the fulfillment just sent the wrong piece. But he also said that it is on them, and he can't do anything. So I spoke to another girl who was very nice, and she said it WILL be corrected, and she was hoping it wouldn't take very long.

So we'll see. I feel a little better now, but I want it fixed.

I'm glad your going to get it fixed the way you wanted it. You ordered it the way you wanted and paid for it that way so don't settle for anything less hun!!!

Nobody gets anything right anymore, nobody! I feel your pain because I
also went through nightmare hell when decorating my new condo 8yrs ago.
I ordered a small Lane recliner and extra fabric for pillows on the new couch
in my family room. The fabric came in a flower pattern like ordered but the
recliner came in a solid forest green. Go figure How can the fabric be correct and the recliner wrong? One wasted vacation day, order sent back. Another 6wks waiting period.

Couch in living room came with a cracked leg! Manufacturer insisted that
the love seat does not have to be sent back also because the fabric on the second couch will match. Of course it did not (different dye lots) and then both couch
and love seat went back. Another vacation day wasted. The third couch
and love seat was finally matching. (three months later)

No wonder prices on furniture keeps getting more expensive. When they
take these pieces back they slash the price and put them on sale!

I hope the second order is correct. Double check, don't trust anyone
because they are all incompedent. Sorry to say.

Oh I'm so sorry Misty! I know you were so excited to get your new sofa in. Hopefully they can fix it and get the correct one to you ASAP!!!

I'm so worried about this, too. I've sewn a whole bedroom and had to order additional fabric. The second batch of fabric is a slightly different red than the first. Fabric lots are always slightly different.

If it doesn't match, I'll get all red hot (little steam coming out of my head) every time I look at it!!

I have close to the same thing going on right now. Ordered a sofa with recliners in it. Had it about 2 weeks and one of the mechanisms in one of the recliners broke. Called them, they said they'll send someone out to check it. No one comes. Call again. This time someone comes and they want to take the WHOLE sofa for a little part that can be replaced on site!! Now, 3 months later, still not fixed. Talked to them. They say they ordered the part and are waiting for it. Another call to them, now they say that we have to talk to the owner of the company!!! What's up with this?? They sure grabbed my money fast!!! Can you imagine if they would have gotten away with picking the sofa up to fix??!! We'd be sitting on the floor.

This is ridiculous, and I definately know your frustration!

i you have a problem with them, call the attorney general.. thats what
me and my ex did when we got messed up furniture and the company gave
us a hard time... of course we got alot of money off .. its these big
businesses that toy with us little people and think they can get away with
it.. good luck

O.k...I had sworn off YT for a while but I just have to reply to this thread.

I feel your pain girl! When we moved to Florida we had to buy everything new so we found a flashy furniture store on the main street in town and ordered a beautiful new $3,500.00 sectional. It was light taupe, full leather, with reclining ends and a queen sleeper. We were so excited for it to arrive because we had been sitting on hard kitchen chairs while waiting.

Delivery day finally came...2 guys gently set the pieces on the street from the truck and unwraped them...2 guys carry each piece to the front porch entry...1 guy goes back to the truck to clean up. Second guy carries everything inside but...this is when it gets interesting...when he gets to the sleeper piece he stands it on end and shuffles it across the concrete porch and into the house. Well, guess what? Yep, it's all chewed up on the end...imagine that! So, we refuse it...he says keep it and they'll come exchange it...I say no way, I have 2 dogs and they'll say they did it...take it with you when you leave! So, we call the store and explain...they say they'll send us a new one in another 2 weeks...ugh! We say fine but send a different crew.

Next delivery day arrives...new crew...I think they share the same brain with the first crew though. Yep, you guessed it...they did the same thing They also said keep it and they'll send someone out to exchange it...we said no way! I then called the store and, of course, got a huge run around. I explained that their crew had now ruined $7,000.00 worth of furniture and a whole lot of our time and I want my $$ back...they said fine but it would take 10 business days to put it back in my account? I don't think so! I told them I paid by debit card and it didn't take them 10 days to get their $$ out so it better not take 10 to put it back...I had it in my account on the next business day...I checked!

So, after they left from the second (attempted) delivery we went into town and found a wonderful furniture store with top quality furniture that was having a floor model sale. I fell in love with a beautiful soft as butter, cream colored full leather sofa and love seat...I paid for my beautiful new furniture and saved about $1,000.00 to boot...they delivered it the very next morning and they did a wonderful job...even cleaned up their finger prints from the door where they touched it and their hands were dirty. We were so pleased we gave each of the delivery guys a $20.00 tip...we were all happy that day!

Yes, I know EXACTLY how you feel. We ordered a table & chairs and buffet on the 11th of June and was told it would come in the end of June. Well our dinning room is STILL empty!! (husband would buy a new set till the old set was sold, and it sold right away) They did not tell us when we ordered it that it was going to come from overseas and that it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get it. She just told us that she called her seller and it was in stock. If it isn't in by the middle of this month we are going to just get our money back and go elsewhere!

They finally replaced our sofa piece yesterday. They got the right pieced but sure enough, the fabric lots are different and the colors slightly don't match!

I wanna scream.
