having a hard time with YT lately

I felt the same way not to long ago. I took a forced break as well because I was taking it personally and I had too much going on in my life for more drama. I stay out of certain threads still. I do believe that they are not out to personally attack you. I just think some people are very passionate about their beliefs and don't know how to word it tactfully. Chin up!

As you know I can totally relate to this as well. I go to YT to escape the drama of my daily life. It seems at certain points it's just brought more drama in .

You can't let just a few others ruin it for you, try to just ignore. I know at times it can be hard, I know I have ran across some threads that just make me want to scream, but I bite my tongue.

Please please don't you leave us!!!! We need you here, you have been a great access to YT!

Well Marcella. There is very little we can do about changing other people, but I know I can not let them ruin my YT experience. I get frustrated at times, but ultimately, people like you are the ones that keep me coming back. So don't get off YT girl. And like Courtney mentioned (bornygirl), there are some threads that I avoid, but I still enjoy some other ones. Keep your head up and like always, keep those Layla pics coming. She's a cutie.

I've been here since the end of 2005 officially and was a reader before that. Prior to YT, I have never belonged to any forum. So I had no experience.

Here are the things I have learned about YT.

YT rocks for many reasons:

1. There are so many here that you never wait days for a response
2. Just think about Papi
3. Check out any RIP thread to see how great people are
4. Yorkie meetups
5. I could go on and on

People get rude and people get their feelings hurt:

Often I see people say things like, "when I first joined YT, it wasn't like this". Well, and I'm sure V will attest to this, threads just like this one have come up from time to time throughout YT's history. (maybe not in the VERY beginning). There have always been controversial threads where people get heated.

Choose the threads you read wisely. (that's all I'm going to say on that)

Monitor your posts. Keep in mind that the tone of voice that you are using does not often translate, if in doubt, add lots of smileys. I've seen threads go down hill quickly because someone used the wrong emoticon or none at all and everyone misread what they meant. None of this is directed at OP, I think her posts are well done!!!!

Aw, Marci, you're one of my favorite peeps on here! Don't you go anywhere! I noticed the stuff going on that I think you're referring to - please don't take it personally. You are a sweetheart - and always SO responsive to people.

There are so many opinions on here, so I know what you mean - sometimes it can feel so alienating. Just take a nice deep breath and remember that you are always kind, respectful and supportive - and how darn great is that?

I would have to agree that lately it does seem to be getting somewhat(heated in certain threads) and it does make you feel like you dont belong, i know i took affence one time real bad and had to step back and calm down, i love it here and most people on here, but there area few who i believe to be way to judegemental,and i had a new comer pm me who also was very affended by a few please dont leave, i didnt

Marci (G I hope I've got that right), I have just read something that surprised even me..... Girl, I reported that poster to admin, I hope others did the same. Seems like they are just being rude for the sake of rudeness.

I know what you mean. I try to avoid posting in controversial threads. Sometimes I can't help myself so I post my opinion but I reread it before hitting the submit button. If I feel that I'm being too harsh, or stooping to a level where I don't want to go, I'll delete it rather than post it.

You are exactly right, Gingergirlsmom! What I don't understand is this:

If you have an opinion, fine. State it as an opinion. It's my right to agree or disagree with you. Hopefully, I have been raised well enough to let you know that I disagree with you tactfully. (It really IS OK to agree to disagree. I don't know why that's not enough for some people.)

But if you have a question ... why ask IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER -- or at least think you do -- and then proceed to berate people who are genuinely trying to give you an answer!!!!

Debate is wonderful. It's healthy. It had a big role in the underlying principles that even started our country.

Abuse is not. It is not wonderful. It is not OK.
