You are exactly right, Gingergirlsmom! What I don't understand is this:
If you have an opinion, fine. State it as an opinion. It's my right to agree or disagree with you. Hopefully, I have been raised well enough to let you know that I disagree with you tactfully. (It really IS OK to agree to disagree. I don't know why that's not enough for some people.)
But if you have a question ... why ask
IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER -- or at least think you do -- and then proceed to berate people who are genuinely trying to give you an answer!!!!
Debate is wonderful. It's healthy. It had a big role in the underlying principles that even started our country.
Abuse is not. It is not wonderful. It is not OK.
