| I agree, have you noticed that most places ask for id when paying with a check but not when paying with a card. At Walmart when they ask for my id and they say I am sorry they make us do that, then I say that is ok I wish someone had asked for the persons ID when they stole my cc and used it here. And something else so crazy is that the same time my card was used at walmart my step mom was working the register beside the one the girl checked out in... |

| Wow! That's awful. Much worse than what happened to me, 'cause you knew the person. |

| There are little magnetic card readers that crooks put in the ATM machines or gas stations that copy your magnetic strip and they can recreate your actual card. This happened to me - i had my card, but they had used a card at the store. That sucks that this happened. Call the vendors that have recurring monthly charges and explain your situation - that way you wont get charged extra fees.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | My hubby and i ran a tab at a bar for the first time once well besides the fact that it took them 45 min to close it i was so mad cause i wanted to go home and it was taking forever well the tab was only $20.00 and my hubby left a $5.00 tip well the stupid lady decided she wanted a bigger tip and charged us $55.00 for a $25.00 tab I was so Pissed i called as soon as i caught it and the girl said o i could't read what he put on there i was like ya right we were refunded the money but just think how many cards she probably did that to. Also the Mcdonalds by my house hates when i come through the drive thru because they never ask for ID (NEVER) so when i get up to pay and they take my card and don't ask i say i need to see a manager now (lol) Then the manager comes to the window and i politley say Do you know how many people come through here with stolen cards and you can't take 5 seconds to check an ID? They always apologize and ask for ID then i'll sit there for a min and watch them ask every car for their ID it's hillarious lol And everythime i go back it's the same thing they don't ask so it starts all over again Muahahahahahaha I'm so evil. If more people would ask this wouldn't keep happining. Credit card companies are making it so easy for them to like the mastercard go pass thing you just wave it in front of the machine no swiping or putting in a pin nothing i would never own that no matter how convienent it was.

| That is so terrible!! So very sorry you are going through this. I have a story that does not involve debit/credit card. A couple of years ago, I took my boys out to eat at a local resturant with some friends (hubby was at work so I wasn't cooking). I stopped by ATM and got $40 cash to pay for our meal which was a little over $30. Since there were 10 people in our party, they automatically added the tip in so my total was around $37. I gave the waitress a twenty and 2 tens to pay for my tab (this was witnessed by my friend, her son, and my youngest). Well, a few minutes later, the waitress returns and said, "You didn't give me enough money" and proceeds to open the black book (you know the one I'm talking about) and shows me my twenty and 1 of the tens. I proceeded to tell her the exact amount I had given her in bills and told her she better find my other ten. She wanted to argue with me until my friend, her son, and my son spoke up and said they saw me give her the $40 and how I had given it to her. She started looking around on the floor by my chair and I told her best look in her pocket as that's probably where she'd find my other ten. Well, she turned around and walked off, returning again moments later with my change!!! Funny how that ten magically reappeared!! She then had the nerve to ask if I wanted my change and I looked at her and replied, "Well, since the tip was already figured in my tab and you had the nerve to accuse me of not giving you enough money when you actually pocketed the ten, yes I DO want my change". I found out a few days later that there was a sting going on at that resturant where several of the employees were stealing credit/debit card info and charging big ticket items....they caught the employees who are now sitting in jail and we've not returned to that resturant since!

| I had my card stolen once too...I had used it at Quizznos and I didnt notice that the girl who rang me up didn't return my card to me. I called that night and the card had not been turned in by the cashier. The manager told me that he would review the video that night and call me the next day...well guess what? The video camera had stopped recording a couple of days before and they hadn't noticed it. So he was like "bad news for you because I can't tell you what happened to your card, but good for us because now we know that we need to fix the camera." Luckily I cancelled the card before the girl got to use it, but how dishonest! And she still works there since there is no proof that she stole it. |

Even so, most don't. Walmart is the worst for not even looking at the back. Every time someone does, I always tell them thank you for doing so. This inevitably leads to them saying how mad some folks get when thay do ask. Stupid people. If they only realized. Sometimes, waiters in restaurants copy the info and utilize it later. This happened to my sister. | |

I rarely have someone ask for my ID - even after they see the "SEE ID." So when they do ask, I always thank them for asking.
