It was made where?

I love purses, ok? Well, hubby says leather purses that are made in China are made from dogs & cats. I've got such a complex now, its stressful buying a purse. Got one yesterday that says " Made in China Vinyl". So maybe I'm not the only one looking at where it was made.

I've never heard of such a thing. If that is true, then the US needs to know about it so they can put a stop to anything made from cats or dogs. I'll try and find some answers to this.

When products get imported into the US they must pass by/and comply with US Customs regulations as well as USDA which include a detail classification of all materials. I am sure dogs and cats are not acceptable means of production..

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but yes - dog and cat IS being used and I honestly hope the US bans all clothing with fur from these animals - there is a HUGE problem in China. HUGE.

You can do a search using key words FUR TRADE ....PETA also has awful videos - but I'd say don't watch if you get easily upset - they'll haunt you for a long time to come.

I don't know about purses - but clothing now is being made with dog fur ...the way to do your part is NOT WEAR FUR !! It's being mis-labled and shipped all over the world .. but WE Don't have to buy the products they are selling and that will slow down the fur trade.

the other things to do are to write OUR legislators asking how we could help.... but, the whole world needs to get their minds off wearing fur...these dogs and cats are being killed like Minks were ....people protested to that - now many people don't wear Mink because of it. Back when I watched the video and sat there crying in disbelief - many of the dogs and cats were wearing collars meaning the fur trade is so big - they're stealing pets to skin ALIVE.

Wouldn't surprise me. Just in the last month or two there have been several (P. Daddy's line, for example) cases of coats with dog fur in US stores.

China has no animal welfare laws. It's not a dog a raccoon dog actually resembles a raccoon. Chinese factories has millions of them in captivity for the purpose of using their fur.

not to debate your comment - but it isn't just one kind of dog - it's the dogs with the fur people like to wear ....but bottom line is NO dog should be killed for us to wear fur They kill cats too - among other animals - It's a horrible horrible way to die

There was a video around that showed a dog with his Front legs CHAINED to a fence while they lifted his back leg and began STABBING him in the stomach as to not damage the fur ....he was just screaming another shows animals HANGING in the air while they're skinned WHILE ALIVE ??? they feel every single thing done to them

I HATED what I saw and almost got physically sick over it - The fur trade is the most inhumane thing I've ever seen in my life - and for what - FASHION ????

There was a HUGE special on TV the other day about this. I literally grabbed my 3 furballs and smothered them to kisses as I cried...............

It is TRUE and there are many hidden camera videos of them skinning these poor babies

The video I saw was a raccoon... but it was WRONG! I don't care if it was a rat... it was WRONG....

I'm not an animal rights person, but I'm also not a big fur and hang a deer head on my wall person either. I have a leather sofa. I don't apoligize for it. I like it. People ate the cows, I sit on the hides... Its a reality. I'm sure there is a video out there somewhere about it... That does make me sad to think about... People do awful things!

I just always figured that if you took what you needed from the earth and did not over do it you would be doing right by it... But man is greedy...

But to this day I still don't get the save some but not the others argument... the more evolved the more rights they should have... how are those decisons made, based on what evidence? If cod made cute noises and interacted with people would stop eating fish sticks? What if chickens had the ability to talk like my pet parrot? Would KFC still be Finger Licken Good? I just wonder about this stuff sometimes? I'm not saying that people should not eat chicken and fish... I eat a TON of fish! And my family eats plenty of chicken... I just wonder why its OK to eat them... and not other animals... why werent they deemed worthy enough to save, like dogs, cats and dolphins??

I just never understood??
