Well I tried Bare Escentuals mineral makeup

I DO like the mineral veil though. My face isn't shiny and my pores look smaller. So I'm going back to Sephora tomorrow for my refund and just buy the mineral veil but there's no way I'm buying a Bare Essentials brush! I wanted to like it so much but I guess it's just not right for everyone.

I'll stick with my Estee Lauder foundation.

I just got the kit over the holidays and decided it is going back (just mailed it out today). Am not too thrilled with it either but I love their brushes so I will get them separately. I love the lipstick (empress color) though so I am keeping that . . .

To each his own - I've used Bare Minerals for many many years and have tried other things in the interium. IMHO, NOTHING compares to Bare Minerals.

Also, EVERYTHING in the informercial, I have found to be "spot on" for me. It takes me approximately 1 minute to put on my foundation and blush. I get compliments on my skin all the time and I have 55 year old, post menopausal, sun damaged skin. So, it DOES work for some people.

Then again, everyone is different - thank GOD - so what works for one will not necessarily work for everyone.

I agree! I'm just glad these cosmetics I'm always trying have a nice return policy or I'd be out a LOT of money! I think they know me by my first name at all the cosmetics counters in Nordstrom!

You are so right - don't you just love Nordstrom's return policy - they are so nice. However, I don't buy much there since things seem to be sooo expensive!!!

I like mac too. I have lots of their eye make-up and their foundation. I prefer it to BE. I have yet to find the perfect lipstick color . . . never quite happy with the results once I leave the store

They also will give you a free lipstick if you return a total of 6 completely used mac products

Mac has the best lipliners. That's all I've used for years.

I really like BE but everyone is different..I have oily skin so it helps me out whereas someone with more dry skin may hate it...it does have the tendency to seep into pores at times..but I have never had too much of a problem with too little coverage..maybe because I cake it on..haha

One thing I do love (totally off the topic of BE and Laura Mercier) is the new Covergirl Lash Exact mascara...it is awesome ladies seriously!! I used to use Mac mascara (which is great) and Benefit mascara (also awesome) but for half the price I like this way more than anything..I have very long lashes and love mascara but it doesn't like me so it used to clump and do all sorts of horrible things but once I found this...OMG like my mascara soul mate..

TRY IT!! It is awesome...

I am sooo glad I ordered the Bare Escentuals, I love it!! I have oily skin and my old makeup always felt heavy and like it was running away. I have to say I am addicted to the BE now, I keep ordering samples off of Ebay in the shadows and so far love them all. I think I have about 8 brushes already, about 4 liner shadows, some blushes, of course the starter kit, Love the mascara and I have at least 20 eyeshadows. I wish I could get them all. I am so glad you guys that like it recommended it, thanks.

I LOVE MAC as it looks so nice and makes your skin look pretty but it's very oily. I reccommend the eyeshadows and the eyeliners though. I break out easily so I need oil free foundation and non-comedegenic however u spell it. I really wanna try Laura Mercier!

I just found this thread and I'm glad I did because I'm totally sold on this Laura M stuff. I was already making up a sephora order so it was perfect timing too (you know the with the $75 free shipping). But I have no clue what color to get. We don't have half the stuff on Sephora in Albuquerque that's why I order it online. So I'm wondering how much of a difference there is between the shades? I'd hate to spend that much and get the wrong color. They all look very similar on the website.

I agree, Bare Essentials wasn't what I hoped either. It feels different than you'd expect and it looked orange on me.
