I hear ya Jen! Despite all that happened on 9/11 - the lives lost, lives forever changed, we can't let them win!! I think for a lot of us, reading this post and seeing it on the news has brought 9/11 crashing right back to the forefront of our memories. My heart goes out to all affected by the "fall outs" from 9/11 and now this - prayers for the families and people involved in this tragedy today.

OMG I'm watching it now! When my dad told me the first thing I thought of was a terrorist attack but they've said there's nothing indicating that it was a terrorist attack. My friend's dad works on that block, but he was home when it happened. SO scary.

If I'm not mistaken, they didn't think the planes were terrorist attacks on 9/11 at first, either. BUUUUT, with that said, I still don't think it's terrorist since it was a small plane.

OMG why don't these newbie pilots TAKE AN EXPERIENCED PILOT with them !! This so remind me of John Kennedy - that boy had no business flying at night & it was a tragic loss but his fault....It takes many many hours of training to be Instrument Rated (for night flying etc) but the world lost a very smart gorgeous man that day John Kennedy crashed.....

And today....if this guy today was only flying a year - he should have been following landmarks - and I seriously doubt any tall buildings in Manhatten are landmarks - ususally it's highways....and with the air restrictions - he had to be WAY off course ...I wonder what was wrong with him ....does anyone think it was suicide ?

edited to add - HUGS JEN !!! Try to put those awful memories aside....I know it's got to be hard but please don't make yourself sick over this - it really sounds like a horrible accident.

ps...it's not the yankees pitcher - It was his plane - lots of people let Flight Schools rent their aircraft - it helps keep the plane flying and it's making money for them rather than sitting -

they're saying here it was a student AND his flight instructor....75 hours in flight training - the Flight Instructor should have never let this happen unless he couldn't stop it - what a horrible thing....

ps...I worked at a flight training school & spent lots of time in small aircraft - the instructors have complete control even in the right seat

One person said that the plane was on fire when it hit the building, but I'm pretty sure they said that wasn't true. I think what happened was something happened with the plane and he was trying to get it to land in the water which was right behind the building. But it hit the building. "There is nothing to suggest that anything remotely like terrorsim" is what the mayor is saying right now. It was a small 4 person plane. How sad that Cory Lidle was killed. but he shouldn't have been flying so soon.
