Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Eye Makeup Question ? Hi all - you guys all seem to know the latest and best products - Does anyone else have a problem with their Eye Makeup making their eyes water ? Lately - my makeup is really bothering me - I use the same products but they seem to NOT like me anymore lol - I stopped wearing eye shadow under my eyes - that helped alot - but now - eye liner is bothering my eyes and lets just say - I don't DO makeup without liner. What is a good hypo Allergetic Eye liner and shadow ? Does this happen to anyone else ? |

| I'm certainly NOT the make-up expert since I only wear mascara and lip color regularly. But, I have a huge problem with mascara in general. Until I started using the mascara by Arbonne it is wasn't competely waterproof It would be all over my face in no time!! Arbonne has really good cosmetics!! It is possible to all of a sudden develop reactions to your products. That happened to me last year with my face wash and moisturizer (also Arbonne brands). Since I prefer the "natural" products without chemicals and preservatives, it has taken forever to find something else I'm happy with that doesn't give me a reaction. I now use products by the Green Beaver, but who knows how long that will last?!

| I don't do makeup without eyeliner either and I use either Estee Lauder or Arbonne. I have the Arbonne liner on today and I even rim inside my eyes and it doesn't make them water. I've used so many different makeup lines but I have to say since I've been a consultant with Arbonne I use all their makeup now and I absolutely love it. I use the brow wax, shadow, liner, concealer, pressed powder and blush. The only thing is I love my Estee Lauder foundation. The makeup is reasonable too. Especially with a 35% discount! Vee if you want more info just email or pm me.

OMG!! I am having this same problem really bad. I posted last month about it somewhere. All of a sudden I cant wear make up without my eyes itching, watering and goo-ing. Ive tried hypo allergenic and it is not working and Ive wasted alot of money on a lot of new makeup. No matter what I do my right eyelid is always ithcy, sore, swollen and constantly peeling (like I have exzema or something). I've only been putting on makeup when I go out somewhere special which is like maybe once a week but still my eyelids are horrible. Ive pretty much had to go natural for the past few months (which means I look like a 14 year old ) I have found that liquid eyeliner is really bad, my eyelid will flare up almost immediately. I even bought neutrogena eye cream that is supposed to be really good and I find that it just really burns. So far nothing helps. Im tired of wasting money, Im going to talk to my doctor about this soon.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh Shana - Isn't it awful ? that sucks...you're so young to have that kind of problem. Back a few years ago when I worked full time - I wore lots of eye makup. I love dramatic colors and they started turning on me. When I stopped using ANY shadow under my eyes ....they stopped watering. I read that the darker the colors the more irratiting it is to your eyes..... a friend had the same problem and she stopped using shadows as eye liner and that helped her too. But now....the eyeliner is doing the same thing to me as the shadows did. So...how do we stop this ? and Carolyn - I am pm'ing you - Do you think your eyeliner will be ok ? Every morning I'm fine ....till I put on eyeliner - and like Shana - it seems to be one eye that waters worse. I've been using Almay Hypo Allergic for years now - and boom - now I can't wear it. |

| Someone recommended this eyeliner a month ago: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...light=eyeliner What brand eyeliner are you using? Before I got allergic to makeup I used to use revlon becuase they are the only one that have the color "vixen" (sort of a brownish, blackish, raisin color that I love!) and then I would use black liquid eyeliner. When my eyes started having problems I switched to alway hypoallerenic eyeliner and I ahve to say that it was the worst! I was more allergic to thier makeup than anything else. I tried clinique and it wasnt as bad but still my eyes and eyelids cant handle it. (im also very allergic to Mary Kay and Avon). So dont waste your time on those brands. I think mascara is a problem factor also but not as bad as the eyeliner. If I can at least wear mascara I dont feel as naked on my face. SO if anyone can recommend me some mascara that would be great! So V- Would you go to a regular doctor or an eye doctor about something like this? I used to have bad eye allergies and couldnt wear my contacts and they put me on these really $$$$$ eyedrops that didnt help. That was when I went to the eyedoctor years ago. Right now I cant wear my contacts again because of this eyelid/eye allergies. I want to get lasik sooooo bad! But anyways Im wonderign if my regular doctor could figure out whats wrong with me and prescribe me somethign because then at least insurance would cover it. Do you think its seasonal? How long have you been having the problem? I think I have been having it for about 4 months now.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Wow Shana....When I first started having problems - it was the eye shadow I was using - that was like 7 years ago - I switched and had no problems till recently. I've been using Almay Eye Liner for years - and it's just the last few months it's bothering me. that sucks you can't wear your contacts !! Do you think it's face cream you use ? Lately I'm using Retin-A and I think that has alot to do with how my makeup is bothering me - but that's me. With you - I wonder if a doctor can really help ? Have you tried changing your pillowcase more often and not using lotions and stuff on your face for a day or 2 and see if that helps ? I know this isn't seasonal for me - but it could be for you...it sounds like you have pretty bad allergies. Are you on any allergy medication ? Did you ever try the Bobby Brown Liner in the link you posted ?

| I don't do makeup. I'm a natural beauty, and make up would just spoil it. LOL Seriously, I do know that repeated exposer to anything can make you develope an allergy to it. so maybe try switching brands. I believe Almay or Alway, somethng like that is hypolergenic. |

| I don't know if this will help but here's a site that tests health and beauty products for safety and also the bad chemicals in them it's www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep, sometimes chemicals are put in our products that has no business being put on our skin and has nothing to do with allergies or a "reaction" like the companies would like you to believe. |

For the eyeliner a tip that helped me a little was after applying it I would put some pressed powder in the corners of my eyes.

Havent tried that eyeliner yet(im a little scared to spend any more money on makeup since nothing works) and I actually dont use face cream. I use eye cream(or at least tried), eye make up remover, and neutrgena face wash. If I use lots of stuff on my face it seems to just make me breakout. And I am constantly washing my pillows so that cant be it. I think I m just jinxed when it comes to my eyes. And yes Im allergy meds.
