Eye Makeup Question ?

I just have to say... that stinks! I could NEVER leave my house without my eyeliner and two coats of mascara!

I plan on having my eyeliner tattooed on within the next few months... Just gotta save up a bit of cash first!
If only they make permanent mascara...

and Carolyn - I am pm'ing you - Do you think your eyeliner will be ok ? Every morning I'm fine ....till I put on eyeliner - and like Shana - it seems to be one eye that waters worse. I've been using Almay Hypo Allergic for years now - and boom - now I can't wear it.

Are you sure it's the eyeliner? My allergies are so bad this year that it seems like my eyes and/or nose are always itchy

that sucks you can't wear your contacts !! Do you think it's face cream you use ? Lately I'm using Retin-A and I think that has alot to do with how my makeup is bothering me - but that's me. With you - I wonder if a doctor can really help ? Have you tried changing your pillowcase more often and not using lotions and stuff on your face for a day or 2 and see if that helps ?

I know this isn't seasonal for me - but it could be for you...it sounds like you have pretty bad allergies. Are you on any allergy medication ? Did you ever try the Bobby Brown Liner in the link you posted ?

Oh-I should have kept reading before posting. If it's not seasonal, is it possible that your eye liner is old or contaminated? A co-worker kept having issues with her eyes and seemed to develop recurrent eye infections from the eyeliner because it had bacteria on it. Her eyes were all red and itchy, like she had pink eye without the puss

LOL !! Oh no - it's nothing like that - it's just after putting eyeliner on it seems the outside corners of my eyes get a little watery - a tiny drop smudges eyeliner ....but I don't have allergies or anything like that...and this has happened with brand new liner. Today I picked up Physicians Formula - and will see what happens - and will probably try Carolyns (Brutus'mama)Arbonne eye pencil...they're made with natural products and reasonable.

I have really sensitive eyes as well, and wear contact lens. My eyes have been a WRECK all spring and summer, and I look like a racoon half the time!! Pretty picture...my patients can't tell if I've been crying, up all night, or so sleepy I can't get my face on straight!!

BUt seriously, I saw my eye doc after switching makeup lines completely, TWICE, with no relief. My right eye was always worse that the left, and they itched, burned, watered, and plain hurt like the dickens!! She said I had a horrible case of allergies, even though I take my Zyrtec religiously everyday without fail. I had little bumps under my eyelids that were causing the problems. She put me on Patanol eye drops and a little steroid drop and in about 4 days I had new eyes. No more problems as now I know if they itch a little I hit them with the drops. Maybe you can have them checked out before wasting all the money on makeup like I did. Got some great new colors though!!

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLL I am ashamed to say i only wear mascara except maybe 2 times a year if I have a function or sometign to go to...LOL Then maybe a bit of lip gloss and if I'm real daring a smudge of eye shadow.

OMG.. I look SOOOOOOOOOO much older and wrinkley with makeup. I LOVE eyeliner and wore that liquid black for YEARSSSSSSSSS until I realized i was looking old and haggard when I wore it instead of SEXY SIGH, when oh when did this happen... I was just YOUNG and then BAMMMMMMMMMM

Hi....

I too have very sensitive eyes and allergies....I also wear contacts......... I wear and love Bare Escentuals eyeshadows/glimmers.. They are all natural.. They have a line of eyeliners too..although I just use my shadows as liners.. You can wet them.. or use them dry.. I have not had any problems with using this makeup line...I LOVE eye make-up.. I would really feel naked with it..lol.. Maybe its worth a try...Many sellers on Ebay sell samples.. and they are very inexpensive...

I love to go to that site and read all of the reviews on different makeup, skincare and fragrance. You can find out just about anything there is to know about different products and well they work or don't work for different people. I have been able to successfully weed down my products to a few holy grails that actually WORK like they are suppose to. So in the long run, I feel like I am saving money verses buying something that ends up being junk and eventually throwing it out. Thanks to makeupalley.com and yorkietalk.com I spend way to much of my time on the computer.
