| Anyone ever done a Cleansing Fast?? I was just wondering if anyone here has ever done a Cleansing Fast of any kind.... I am Currently on Day nine of a Master Cleanser... Lemon or lime, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water drink, and nothing else... for min of 10 days as long as 40... you also do Salt Water Flushes and During Tons of fresh water... But no food aside form the Lemonade... Am I crazy?? 9 days without food... Or have some of you done some "Radical" stuff too?? My family thinks I'm a "bit extreme"... why can't I just take fiber like everyone else?? lol They are all so freaked out!!! I have an aunt who actually thinks that at 10 days without food you'll die!!! lol So I may not be back tomorrow!!!! lol Silly I feel amazing!!! So... Anyone???

| That's so crazy my friend was telling me about this exact thing yesterday. She wants me to do it with her but I don't think there's anyway I could make it, well she said it lasted 7 days and you are saying at least 10, I thought 7 was bad enough. Are you supposed to lose weight too? That's a pretty dumb question, you aren't really eating anything. She said you drink broth one meal is that true? I'm considering trying it, need to do more research I guess.

| Wow, girl You have will power. I know I won't be able to do that. That is too extreme for me. I did the not eating just 2 days and it was bad enough. I was dizzy and ill. I think 30 days is too much for your body. Then again Im no doctor. Good luck. |

| Fasting Fasting is not good for you. I would consult your physician before doing anything that extreme.

| Honestly.... There are enough Calories in the Lemonade to keep you "going" and when you drink plenty of fluids you should avoid the Dizzy thing... I only got dizzy one day... day 7 and its totally cause I was lax on the water intake... My fault!!! I have not been hungry at all... If you keep drinking the 'brew' as I call it... Theres no room for food!!! lol And after the first two days.. which are the hardest for most people... it gets much easier! As far as the broth... That makes it so hard... Some Magizine Printed a totally Twisted Version of it as a weightloss diet.... Its way off base!!! The whole point of it is to give your body a rest from digesting and processing foods.. and to clean out your digestive tract and cleanse your blood and filtering organs, liver, kidneys etc. The enzymes in the lemons break stuff up... and eat waste... the Pepper is a Blood Cleanser and an amazing Thermogenic, the Maple syrup supplies not only the calories but a ton of much needed minerals for your body while fasting... Its not nearly as drastic as water fasting... I did that years ago... 9 days.... That was tough!!! This is a walk in the park compared!! Water fasting, you literally are void of all energy and are in bed for the whole time except trips to the bathroom... but its a much quicker cleanse... Very extreme!! If you want to check it out... there is a site that has a Board.... With tons of People doing it... And you Can get the actual info.... The Book "The Master Cleanser" By Stanley Buroughs Is like 5 bucks at most health food stores... or this site has it too... www.themastercleanse.com If your gonna do it... do it right... no soup... no food... nadda... otherwise... its not as effective... OH!! and Yes, if you need to loose weight, you will... but if you don't, you'll maintain... your body has a way of regulating its self on this... I'm doing it with a friend who is a TOTAL STICK!!! 123 lbs!!! I HATE HER!!! she's like a size -2 lol Anyway... she has actually maintained her exact weight for the last 9 days!! I on the other hand being a total cow, have lost over 10 pounds... Most people, unless they jump right back into junk food, keep it off, cause it is is actually fat loss, not false loss... Toxins are stored in fat and the fast releases those toxins and flushes them from your body... so unless you load up on the same crap... you should keep it off... I'm Cutting out red meat and a few other things in my diet post cleanse... I don't want to cram a bunch of crap back into my newly clean body!!! I'm going 80% raw.. I'm still doing Seafood and some Chicken... maybe.. I'm not a Chicken fan... hubby is.. But I can't give up my Sushi!!!! Or Cooked fish... So with a new menu, I should be just fine... I am down a total of 70lbs in 6months!! I weighed 197 this morning!! I was 267 6 months ago!! Yikes Shhhhhh Don't tell anyone!!!! After all that loss, I figured I needed a good Cleanse.... And I was right!!! I feel AMAZING!!!!

| Dr. Hazzard used to kill people with a similar diet. It doesn't sound very healthy. Your body needs a variety of foods in order to be healthy and have energy. I remember watching something on tv a few months ago... There was a doctor back in the old days named Dr. Linda Burfield Hazzard who swore that her thin tomato and asparagus soup would rid the body of ills and any toxins but that is all they could have... she killed many women and men this way. She would lock them in her house and feed them the tomato soup for all of their meals. They would get weaker and weaker as they were starved down to skeletons at about 75lbs. They would all eventually die, some after only about 40 days. Only one woman was ever able to escape and tell everyone what was going on. The doctor got in trouble for it but was able to return home. Later on she got sick and did by her own hand... the tomato fast. Somehow her book did get out and it's available on Ebook. The fast you're talking about might be a variation of it. Again, I don't recommend it, I think it's bogus. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, do it the healthy way. It's against nature to be starved. I do wish you luck in losing weight and becoming healthy. I know I've had weight problems in the past (I'm pregnant now.) At least please take some kind of supplements or vitamins esspecially if you're starting a new diet. Here is an excerpt about Dr Hazzard. http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_k...octors/11.html Dr. Linda Burfield Hazzard set up her operation in 1907 in Seattle, Washington, and offered several versions of a published manual of her special method. One of the few female doctors in the country (trained as an osteopath), she presented herself as the only licensed fasting therapist in the country, and her final domain was a sanitarium, Wilderness heights, in the small town of Olalla, across the Puget Sound from Seattle. It was an isolated place, with no way to communicate with the outside world. Exuding self-confidence, Dr. Hazzard assured people that her method was a panacea for all manner of ills, because she was able to rid the body of toxins that caused imbalances in the body. As strange as it may seem, she managed to persuade people to go without food, aside from some water and a thin tomato and asparagus soup, for long periods of time. As their bodies shed "toxins," she required enemas (a fashionable purgative in many such places) and provided vigorous massages meant to accelerate the process. As patients weakened, Hazzard found ways to encourage them to turn over to her their accounts and power of attorney. Not surprisingly, several died under her "care" and she grew richer. Her bigamous husband, Sam, helped get the patients, once they were very weak, to change their wills to make Dr. Hazzard their beneficiary. Yet when attacked for her methods as patients died, she insisted that they had been near death when they came, and she could not be expected to work miracles. Even with these dire stories, she still drew both disciples and patients from around the world. Local residents dubbed the place Starvation Heights, and it caught the attention of authorities when two wealthy British sisters came to "take the cure." | For 20 days I am sure you will be fine as long as you don't have any exams or anything of the sort that requires concentration. Unless you have a medical condition, then I would suggest consulting a doctor. Also, it's not good to continue if you start feeling bad. I have done very strict detox diets, but not fasting. A part of one of the diets was not to eat anything for 24 hours once every week to give your digestive system a break. I did not mind. Drank tea a lot. I really want to go on a spiritual cleansing fast, but that's after I lose some weight. In my experience short term restricted dieting actually made me gain weight significantly when I came off of it. Well, good luck

| My Mom has done it over a dozen times her first one was when I was like 15. She does 40 days each time... Most times she does not lose weight cause she was thin... but when she needed to... boy did she!! and she was the picture of health... she's not done one in a few years... Amazingly enough... I am still just as active as ever... I still exercise... I walk and do all my normal stuff... I'm not run down at all... I'd break it if I felt at all weak.... But I have a ton of energy! Its NOT for everyone.. I totally agree... I tried it in my early 20's and NO WAY!!! I could make it one day!!! You could not pay me to do it!!! But its something I was totally craving.... I needed a break from food... From crap... Its nice... And I'm not wasting away... I feel great! I was just curious if any of the older members had Fasted... it was a big thing years ago....
