People have adopted kids from foreign countries for years, even with the number of kids in foster care in America has risen since the 80's to ridiculous numbers, but the kids here do have a better chance at an education and or health and family...In a country like Africa a newborn child who parents have died from AIDS, are left at the orphanage, many times neglected and/or forgot about. Do, half of you know what GOES on IN HAITI!! But, yet she went...
I watch the new( I am a nerd, I watch CNN, FOX NEW, MSNBC) so I am pretty up tp date on a lot of stuff that most people my age don't give a darn about..I read papers that are not in the checkout aisle at Winn Dixie...


This thread isn't fun, it's cruel..It's ok to have a friendly disagreement about someone being a homewrecker, and someone making sucky movies....But, making cruel remarks about the kids they adopted, and their work, and why they are doing it...

Talk about the woman all you want but don't bring the poor people in Africa into it, and compare their situation to people in America. My father was dirt and I mean dirt poor, his family lived in a house that had dirt floors, with 12 children. He will even tell people that the poorest people in the US live 10x better than those in Africa and other 3rd world countries.

Like it was stated many posts ago, if you don't like the contents of this thread, don't read or post in it. It's not like the title was deceiving or anything. You think Angelina is the best thing since sliced bread and me along with many others think she's just a trashy attention seeker. Africa is not the only place that has poverty and disease. Take a look at our own country. Since you don't buy the papers at Winn Dixie, I would think you would see that. But it's ok if we don't agree. I really don't care who agrees or disagrees with me or my views, because that is just what they are, our own personal views. No one was personally attacking each other, just debating reasons why they like/dislike this celebrity. IN MY OPINION, she just adopted those kids for media attention and she didn't pay as much as the ONE website says she did. It's easy to have a website dedicated to you and your works and paint in all pretty, but there are far more websites describing her problems from drugs to her open sexual actions and language in public...GREAT ROLE MODEL MISS AMBASSADOR. There are plenty of everyday people like you and me that do a heck of a lot more but I just don't stay for the photo ops I guess. She's an awful role model and just because she visits a country, it does not make her a saint. MOST celebrities have a hidden agenda for everything they do. There are people that advise them, they are called publicists. But I guess the papers at Winn Dixie probably don't talk about that either

Thanks This thread was started as a funny joke and some people, I wont name names and they know who they are, took it all serious and started being rude in her post saying we need to get lives, ect. We are all free to discuss any matter we want, whether someone else likes the topic or not. We are all free to express our opinion if we are not bashing or attacking each other (unless somebody here is Angelina herself ). I think we all know how the other team feels and we should just let this one go and call it an agreement for disagreement

I actually helped quite a few ppl in need today thanks. I donated my kids clothes, clothes I cant fit into and some food to the local church for the food pantry that I do three times a week..How a bout you all!!!

I just got finished reading this entire thread and agree with your entire post.

I don't like her, never really have. I don't think she's very pretty and have always wondered why others find her so gorgeous (I think she has really pretty eyes and that's about it). I don't like how she got together with Brad Pitt and I don't like the position that left Jennifer Anniston in. I'm prob worse than most of you because I still can't bring myself to watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith because I know they got together during the movie.

As far as adoption people have different reasons as to why they choose that path some because that is the only way they are able to have kids some because they feel a calling of some sort to do so. Then you have international adoption vs. domestic and with that decision comes just two times more reasons. Adoption is a personal decision and the remarks made here can and possible have offended some people. And as far as the remark about having her own child made her feel guilty, there are several people who only choose to adopt because they want kids and feel why not give one a home who already needs one, I'm not saying this is for everyone but it is for some. I've also heard her say that she would love to have more biological children too. I think she wants to and will prob continue to do both, I have much respect to her for that too. And who's to say "our" children are more important than those in other countries? I'm not saying others are more important than "ours" either, there is so much that goes into the decision to adopt and the decision of where to adopt from.

As far as her work, I think we all, I know I do sometimes as well, see someone who is doing good and knock it. Maybe we feel guilty for not doing more or maybe since we don't do that much we can't imagine someone else doing that much good.

Also just because you start a post saying that you are joking doesn’t mean that whenever you say whatever in it you won’t offend people. I can’t start a post with I’m just kidding but all southerners are smelly can’t read and don’t know how to talk, it just doesn’t cut it nor should it. Hey thats what we can do talk about what we do to better the world......I have and continue to mentor underprivledge children in the inner city. I also volunteer at a Senior Citizens home twice a week. I take my niece and nephew every Thanksgiving to a local food bank and give out food, and I also adopt a family every Christmas to provide gifts. Oh and I raise my niece (see pic in Avatar) and nephew because unfortunately their parents are crack addicts.
