Come on now. Has anyone actually SAID what she does when she "VISITS" these places? All she has to do is VISIT a country and she's considered an ambassador. It's not like she deserves the recognition of Mother Teresa who dedicated her entire LIFE to the needy and physically helped them. I think many people do more than Angelina and don't get the credit for it because they don't have the fame.

WOW! You are truly unbelievable...You can't even imagine how horrible it is there, that's the land of my ancestors, but I don't even have the nerve to go(ships, heat, shackles, j/k)..It's Miserable....Just sad..some people take things too far...By the way she does more than visits these places..she donates a 3rd of her salary...Monther Teresa was a Saint, we all can't be them....Some of us don't even care for our neighbor...But, we Hate on anyone for the GOOD they do...

That is what I'm asking people to clarify! What GOOD does she do besides get a HUGE tax break? My ancestors are from the Philippines which has a huge problem because people are either really rich there or extremely poor. (My brother still lives there, and trust me... he's on the poor side.) One of the biggest problems in financial aid is trying to get it to those that benefit from it most. Sorry, but most of the time when people donate large amounts of money it's for different reasons other than humanitarian aid.

Some might consider it mean to criticize charities but some definitely have an alternative motive. Do you remember when Bill Gates donated 100 million to India to stop AIDS over there? At the same time he was spending over 400 million fighting LINUX. He had special interests there because India holds 1/10th of the world’s software developers. So if AIDS took an even greater hold (with 4 million at that time) then there went his MS market. It's nice that they're getting help at the same time but I'm sure other countries in Africa needed the AIDS help MORE, but in the end Bill Gates was just looking to get richer. I don't think he would have donated any money to them if he didn't expect to get his investment back and then some. WTO's TRIPS (the rule that helps Gates rule) is what stops African governments from buying the medicines they need at cheap prices in the first place. He also did it for PR because Times ran his story 3 times in a very brief period. http://www.globalissues.org/TradeRelated/Debt/USAid.asp Personal Donates do help but when it's for other motives...

Most of us who have REAL lives, and have gone through real things in life recognize that she's a trashy person hidden behind big lips and big paychecks, and nothing more. Be blessed and and have fun degrading a woman who has saved the lives of thousands (maybe even millions) of poverty stricken children across the world!!! Whether she was involved with a married man or not, I think that in itself should be enough for you to see that she is no as trashy as you think!!!

there are tons of other people in the world who help people but they don't get any reconition because they're not famous like her. Because it doesn't matter what you do anymore, if you're not sexy and rich you don't get any attention. forgive me for not being able to look past the fact that she stole someone else's husband...that's just wrong.

You're wise beyond your years Megan! I honestly hope that my daughter grows up to be like you and have her own goals and morals. This day and age young girls have such bad role models.

But you're right, we really do have such bad role models. There are much better people than women like Brittney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton, etc, to look up to.

Unfortunately they're the ones who are getting all of the media attention. My friend is worried about her 8 year old daughter because she idolizes those women and says that she doesn't need to have good grades because she doesn't want to go to college. I guess she just plans on looking hot and marrying rich. I hope she snaps out of it.

Well, if it wasn't for Angelina going to these different countries and adopting her two children, we wouldn't be discussing it here would we? So, if anything, she has helped to bring "Awareness" back to the headlines. I think that alone is wonderful and fine. If she is doing more terrific! If she is doing it for her own personal publicity, that's fine too since it brought the "Awareness" back and if one more child is adopted or receives aid from the "Awareness" brought on by all the publicity Angelina caused, I say GREAT JOB!
