BUgs in general dont scare me but roaches FREAK me out!!! I also have a fear of lake water. I wont get in it if I cant see my feet and if I do get in it I have to be a in a floating device so that I am not actually in the water. I HATE water where stuff can touch me but I cant see it. I call it "fear of the unknown" .

I LOVE snorkeling and want to get dive certified because oceans dont scare me since I can see in the water. But lakes/ponds/dirty streams scare the crap out of me.


I also have a total fear of the bird flu. I catch everything, so once it hits the US Im gonna wear a mask

Hmm...let's see:
1) bees (or wasps, hornets, yellow jackets)-as in, deathly afraid, not just I-don't-wanna-get-near-them-cause-they-sting...throw spiders in there too
2) Flying...did it twice, still didn't like it even heavily sedated, have no plans on doing it again
3) Ghosts...yes, I believe they exist...the concept is facinating, but scares the living crap out of me at the same time

when i first read this thread.. i was like.. hmm i don't think i have any phobias..

but as i read everyone elses.. i realized i DO have a lot of phobias..

1) Spiders.. they creeep me out sometimes! i can look at them on tv, but crawling anywhere near me scares me.. and when people tell me everywhere in the US, you are within 10 feet of a black widow.. that freaks me out.. so i'm ALways looking haha

2) Im dead scared of drowing/suffocating as well.. Im SO scared of the shower when the faucet thing is so strong that i'm like drowing haha it sounds funny, but it's happened LOL..

3) Im scared of going too far into the ocean where sharks will eat me alive or a whale will grab my leg and bring me all the way down lol.

4) Im scared of being robbed/raped in public restrooms.. especially when no one else is there but me and i hear weird noises.. i start to get freaked out lol..

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I CAN so relate to that ! I have awful dreams and do stuff like that all the time - but not on a waterbed - this is just too funny -sorry for laughing at your phobia - but your HUSBAND is going to have a phobia about sleeping with YOU if that happens again ! lol

Birds.. they freak me out,, in my old apartment, It was above my dads body shop and he would leave his doors open all day,so guess what would come in...YEP,,and where would they end up,,in my apartment,,, one day I stayed in bed all day,,cause one was on the curtain rod staring at me,,and the phone was in the other room...
Once I came home and everything was wrecked and knocked over,, I thought someone broke in,,then go in the kitchen dead bird on the floor..
So EWWWW birds!

Yet, I have 2 bird feeders at my house Don't mind watching them,, just don't get close to me..

We laugh about it all the time! Thank goodness we don't have a waterbed anymore! I still have dreams like that but have never done THAT since then. I sometimes wake myself up yelling at a boogeyman in my dreams, but that is a different phobia all together!

The only phobia I have is of people. I don't do crowds well.. Even at family events where I know everyone, I have to sit away from people. I won't go into a restraunt if there is a lot of people in it...... The place that I refuse to go to is WAL-MART..... I will only go to wal-mart if it's about 1 a.m. when there's not alot of people. I wish I could figure out why.... It gets annoying and my husband hates it when we pull into a restraunt and I refuse to go in.

Glad, see this is why you didn't get to talk to me much at the Yorkie meetup.... It took everything I had to stay as long as I did with all the people in one room. I think I did quite well though....LOL

I am afraid of birds also. I have been since I was little. I can remember and so can my Mom, that when I was still in the crib I had a nightmare of chickens pecking at me. I'm afraid of any kind of bird, doesn't matter. If I'm mowing the yard and there is a dead one in my path, I jump off and run. Now we have some kind of Swallow that dive bombs when we mow, so now....my husband and son do all the mowing. We do have feeders up for hummingbirds and gold finches, but they are on the other side of the window. I am 51 years old and hate having this fear!!!!
