Pet Peeves

You all have expressed some of my worst peeves...rude service and the continuous turn signal are biggies. My children seem to think we have a maid since their father does(grr). I no longer have in-laws (can you hear the amen chorus?). Mispronouncings are bad but Grammer and Spelling errors make me crazy. Someone had a sig line..."Driving the grammatically correct insane one post at a time" I am first in line there.
I am not perfect in this department by any means and typos happen to everybody...but for goodness sake...Please make the effort to use the correct-there, their, they're -knew, new -know, no, -to, two, too the list is endless....also a moot point is not a mute one.
I believe this is the result of relying on spell check instead of actual education....who's going to invent context check and make the next million? I want royalties.

dang....there is a lot of hating in this thread. LOL. And i'm sure gonna get a lot of hate for this part.

you ladies got issues....just to name a few and not picking on anyone. :-)

toilet paper on the wrong way? I never heard of that. does the paper not roll off either way?

toilet seat up? Why can't you ladies put it down yourselves...why do the men HAVE to put it back down. The seat should always be up. since we are standing it would make sense for you ladies to do it. For us MEN to do it its a waste of energy and movement. But for you ladies its put of the motion. grab the seat on your way down...when you are in the process of standing up...grab the seat up as well. we don't want to bend for no reason at all.

standing in the way? Who said the streets belong to you ladies. Pay attention and move around me. i like to stop and stare at things...thats why there is advertisment all around us..

Driving? If you ladies weren't so slow i wouldn't have to cut in front of you or go around you. If you are doing the speed limit move over or else i will tailgate you. the reason i can go around you is because someone in front of you is going really slow.

thats it for now...i forgot the rest of the peeves.

Received a note from dd's guidance counselor, she should know how to spell, correct? Nope, first sentence....YOUR are right. So glad my spelling inchallenged daughter is being educated by these people.

Hon, if you would replace the empty toilet paper roller, instead of leaving the empty and placing a new roll on the counter, I wouldn't care which way it hung.

The reason MEN need to put the seat down is because either due to lack of aim, or the hygenic method of shaking after going men use...that tends to leave tee tee on the seat. I clean it off when it's stained, old, and crusty. YOU can do it when it's fresh. Consider bending over a little work out for that tummy many of you carry around

Stopping and staring....yep, that's why advertising executives have discovered sex sells.....

Btw, shouldn't you be posting on the men's only thread Hmmmm, guess they're not talking about anything interesting

We would have plenty of energy to fix the toilet seat if we didn't us so much of it fixing the toilet paper.

Standing mindlessly in the way is only asking for us bad women drivers to run over you. Of course, we drive slow so it shouldn't hurt much.

I have to say that you all have some great pet peeves that I totally agree with you on!!!! But I do have a few that pertain to where I work!!!! I am a hairdresser and here's my pet peeves!!

1. When a client is 15-20 minutes late or even more! And they come in taking their good all time hanging up their coats, getting coffee and slowly walking over to my chair!!!!
A) I am very RARELY ever late for an appointment so please give me the respect to be on time. When a client is late like that--that puts me behind all day then and very hard to catch up!
B) At least apologize for being late--it goes along way!!!!
C) You can go get your coffee when I am mixing up your color or let my assistant get it for you--that is what I pay her for!!! LOL

2. When a client doesn't tip right!!!! I have just spent a good 2 hours or so on your color and your cut and i get a $2.00 tip??? Thanks!!!
PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIRDRESSER!!!!!!!!!
But I do have really great tippers though!!!!!!
Remember, you call last minute and want an appointment--If you are a good client we will work harder to get you in!!!! And you are not a "good client--well, you may have to wait!!! LOL

3. When client sits in my chair and all they do is complain, complain, complain!!!! They talk about how BAD their lives are and complain about it the whole time! As stated before, I do not like such negativity, but man, some people really take it to an extreme. I do not mind when someone is having a bad day and they need to vent, because we always need to vent at some point in our lives.

4. When a client wants a change.... but they will not let me take any thing off their hair. No length, no texture, nothing...well its going to be the same then!!!!!!

Ok--thats enough for right now!!!!

Have you really? I have a teacher friend who sends me emails who was a notorious bad speller when we were growing up....when she sends me something spelled incorrectly, now...I just hit reply, highlight and tell her I'm glad nothing's changed.

When my dd was in elementary school, the powers that be decided not to correct for spelling...they said if the child got the first and last letter correct, eventually they would learn how to spell the entire word correctly. I thought it was the dumbest thing, I'd ever heard. Yep, let them spell it wrong and think it's close enough. Should've added that one to my pet peeve list.

why replace the toilet paper before hand. If we need more we will replace it if not then the next person who needs it can do it.

we aren't standing there mindlessy...we are paying homage to the female bodies that are around us. speaks volumes about your driving skillz and violent side though...
