Do you have a KitchenAid Stand Mixer & do you really use it?

Vitamix! I use mine almost daily (well not when it's really cold) and put in a lot of frozen fruits and ice. Works great. I went through about 5 normal priced blenders, one a month trying to make smoothies. Couldn't handle the frozen stuff.

Wow! They are pricey! I'd have to move to somewhere sunny year-round and sip on fru-fru drinks daily to justify that expense.

I got my Vitamix from Costco. The lower model was $375, so it wasn't really that bad. I know there is one that is $500+, that is the pro model. We broke several ~$100 blenders, each one in about a month, so when you think about it, not that bad. We've had this one for over a year already.

I've been wanting one too but they are just sooooo expensive. I decided to buy a sunbeam standing mixer. I got it on sale for $20 so it was a good deal and I know it probably won't last as long but I'll have a better idea of whether or not I'll use it and then maybe I can justifying spending the $200 or $300 I'd have to spend on a kitchen aid. I've only used it once (on Thanksgiving) so at this point, I'm happy with it.

The great thing about KitchenAid is if it breaks or acts a bit weird, KA will replace it immediately! Oh and YTJ.... my KA blender did a similar thing, I'll have to call about it and see what they say.


I did move mine to the counter permanently. Very heavy, but so much fun. Tip: Always add flour slowly. And if you are wounded, they can mix a killer meatloaf. My hands are arthritic and trying to mix meatloaf with the cold meat sent me to a place I never wish to visit again! Not always that bad... I had a bad day, lol.

Didn't think of meatloaf! Great idea! My family loves it but I hate mixing it.

I've got a do it all mixer/osterizer/processor that's spent the last 25 years in the box. I've pulled it out several times to entice Robyn to use it. Even though it is perfectly clean and useable, like new, she just won't use it. Unless your normal routine includes lots of anticipated use of the appliance, it probably just isn't worth getting. The simplicity of the smaller hand mixers and time it takes to clean is the way to go in most cases.

The enamel blade with the rubber edge is great for everything. Cookies, cakes, egg mixtures....it reaches the edge better so that not as much of the mix is left on the sides of the bowl.

I forgot before, if you want a stand mixer but the price is holding you back, sunbeam mixers are good. My grandmom bought one after her ancient kitchaid died (said she's too old to invest in another kitchenaid ) and she doesn't have any problems with it. She's had it about 7 years. It's also lighter than the kitchenaid.

I used it to make cookies today, it really does work better. I'm very glad I used my kohls cash on it.

Depends on how much you cook...I have one and its parked in my corner kitchen garage . I sit it on a towel and just pull it out. I wouldn't use it if I had to lift it up to counter ...it is big and it is heavy...but ever so handy...
Can walk away from it while it's mixing to grab something or set timer ...
Great for holidays making big batches of mashed potatoes..or double batches of cookies...
Lots of accessories ...do you can tomatoe jc? Juicer strainer
Or make ham salad? Meat grinder...
How many times have you changed your mind?! Lol!

I just made 35 pumpkin bread loafs and the world looks level in cookies right now.....maybe 25 dozen! I adore my stand mixer!!!

Oh my gosh! So many munchies! Who are you cooking for? I think the most cookies I have ever made at one time was five dozen, for the cookie sale at the kids school winter carnival.
