| ![]() In todays day and age you have to take that very serious. Last nights "Seventh Heaven" (a rerun) was about one the school kids threatening the son(simon) by pointing his finger like a gun and pretending to shoot him. Well Simon tells the dad (Pastor), the Pastor contacts the boys parents- they laugh and the boy denies it. A few days later the boy then shoots the Pastor ... What the story line boils down to is that parents and schools need to take these kinds of remarks or actions with more than a "its just kids being kids". There is an awesome book about media violence by Col. David Grossman "Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill It". I am not sure if it is against the rules but his webiste is www.killology.com He is an awesome presentor for schools to get to educate the schools/community on the real dangers youth face today. Maybe if more parents took it seriously and paid more attention to their kids actions there wouldn't be so many kids killing other kids, bombing, shootings, etc...... Just my 2 cents for the day......

| ![]() well......... from my experience, if a child is repeatedly getting in severe disciplinary problems at school adn the child is not being taken care of at home social services can be called in to look at a case of neglect (again this is EXTREME and i have only seen it happen once). |

| ![]() Nicole I don't think anyone reading your post would think sarcasm! ![]() I DEFINITELY DON'T want to detract from the awful situation Joran was put into and how scared he must have felt but can you imagine the emotional state of this young girl who wrote the note. I almost pity her. If the adults in charge of her can't even take something like this seriously, what chance does she have of getting help and turning her behaviour around. |
