Here's something worth sharing. I have been helping myself detox for at least a month now using Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. I put two tablespoons in a wine glass and then fill the rest with water and drink it before breakfast every morning. Yes, it is nasty. But it is suppose to have a lot of health benefits, including helping with weight loss because it cleans you out. Here is a link to read a little on it. So.. I gained about 5-6 lbs. :( Ever since I got into that car accident back in late October, I haven't been walking Magnus and don't really move around as much. PLUS! All the holiday foods.. -_-; After looking at the scale for the first time since the accident, I was shocked into working out again. LOL |
going to bed happy, LOL that is because I did not cheat today, Most nights I go to sleep full of regrets because I fell off the bandwagon once again. |
I had to control myself last night when the family decided they had a sweet tooth and wanted ME to go buy stuff to make banana splits.:eek: lol Well I came home with light vanilla ice cream, lucerene whipped topping (label had less calories) and Hershey's chocolate syrup in a can (way less calories than the others). I didn't make my own, but did have a couple bites off theirs. So I shouldn't be in too much trouble. With our dinner last night, they had rice and I had a side salad instead. I have to do things like that everyday though because they won't eat healthy even if I try to force it one them. I have to sneak it on them it get it done. The funny part is they can never tell the difference when I do. |

I don't think that weird, as there are many calories in salad dressing. Of course it all depends on what dressing one chooses. I usually ask for it on the side, and dip (not drench) my salad in it. This way every bite tastes good and less calories in that way. |

Not sure what 'older' means to you, but I hear that once we hit 50 it takes twice as long to work off the extra pounds. Arggg! I too am paying more attention to what I'm putting in my mouth. Fortunately for me, my health conscious dad always made an effort to chew his food lots, like 30 times, before he swallowed, so I have consciously tried to count to 15-20 myself. There are enzymes that are released while we chew that help in the breaking down of food in our stomaches, so it is in our best interest to chew more. As you said, the more you chew the fuller we feel in a shorter time frame:) The other thing that I do when I go out for dinner is portion 1/2 from the start, so that I am not overeating and have a meal left over:) They certainly can make food taste soooo delicious that I want more, but have to talk rationally to myself... and most of the time it works. As I don't exercise, it makes sense for me to do this, as I know that I won't be working off the extra calories. Now chocolate... well that's a whole 'nother story!! My NY's resolution is to eat less chocolate! Typically I eat the dark, but occasionally it's the milk. Bad:( |

This is what I do as well. I can't stand to drink just plain water. I think the lemon also helps in digestion:) I used to squeeze a lemon, but now I just buy a bottle of lemon juice. For me, this is more doable/quick this way. |

I'm 36. It seems weight was a lot easier to lose when i was in my 20's! LOL Dark chocolate is known to prevent certain types of cancers. So it's not completely bad. My mom is a cancer nurse and works for a very respected oncologist. She tells me all kinds of stuff like this - which is where I got that info. |

Good to know... thanks! I won't feel as guilty when I eat dark then:) |

Got on that evil scale again today. So I have 3 more lbs to go until I get back down to the weight I was the last time I said I was going to start dieting. |
1 Attachment(s) I saw this sign about a year ago. Isn't this so true? Attachment 395558 There's an "I" missing in there. haha |
I just remembered a healthy snack. For anyone who likes sushi, it's the Korean nori, called roasted laver. Most big markets have it in the Asian section but usually only the Annie Chung brand and it's pretty pricey, like 99 cents a pkg. If you have an asian market near you, more specifically Korean, but most asian markets will have it. They are much cheaper, like a 9pk for $3.99, and lots of different brands. Look for the ones with sesame, sunflower, or canola oil. Avoid palm oil and msg. It's like 10cals a pack and really hits the craving if you want chips. That is, if you already like the taste of nori. If you hate seaweed/sushi, I don't think you'll like this LOL. But we always keep some at the house. I love it. Oh, closest thing to it is kale chips, but so much cheaper! Texture is just like kale chips. Even lighter. |

A bottle a day? Do you think that is safe. That stuff is pretty potent. I was doing tbs three times a day before each meal. I am going to be tested tonight for the game. Were having pizza, chips and dips and lots of alcohol. So I went and got some Bacardi and diet coke and I am just going to have to control myself. lol |
Not a bottle of the ACV straight. But a bottle of water with 2 tbs of ACV with chia seeds. Do you think that's ok? Eat a healthy snack before you go!!! |

LOL! Sorry. I was going to say. A bottle of ACV, yikes! lol The party is at my house. |
LOL. Ok then eat before you start fixing the food I guess! Put out cut up fruit and veggies. How about hummus? |
Im craving bread like craaazyyyy tonight. Like i want a spicy chicken wrap...but I have been sooo dikigent about not eating gluten. Cheating is just so not worth it. I need to figure dinner out, its 7pm and I haven't eaten all day bc I was really really busy all day long. Went to the ATM and saw a sign for Planet Fitness, coming soon to my town! I'm so excited about it! I'm going to be in there so much they're gonna get sick of me. but I heard all this crazy stuff about how PF is a "fat people gym" because they give out free pizza, bagels, and candy. and that they removed the squat rack from every gym. I am excited bc its so cheap and I mostly want to use the cardio equipment, so the weights aren't that big of a deal to me. plus the whole "Lunk Alarm" thing will keep the college athletes and meatheads away. I don't eat pizza or bagels anyway, so I'll just ignore that haha. crazy that they'd do that at a gym. |
Why would they give out pizza and bagels? Seems counterintuitive to me. Or is it just a joke? I mean that lunk alarm is pure comedy right there. I don't think it would keep the college crowd away though, bc it's cheap, that will draw them in. I overheard a friend of a friend talking about her joining Equinox. She said one of the worker there corrected her when she called it a gym. "It's not a gym, it's a club". It's more like a dating service. I guess people pay ridiculous amounts to go to a gym so they know everyone else there paid the same (meaning they have lots of money). And have you seen their ads? They use skinny minnie models that look like they couldn't lift a fork to put food in the mouth. Oh wait.... |
Ok girls... im drunk and wanted to share the moment with you all.... y'all. Lol. Happy friday!! |
