Not yet but I did try your suggestion about squeezing lemon on your salad and top it with a little salt and pepper today instead of dressing. I must say, it will be my new substitute for now on. Thanks! I would have never thought of that Today I tried it with garlic salt and it was good that way too. I haven't got enough courage to step back on the scale yet, but I do feel like I am losing weight. I will try the scale next week..... maybe. lol :D |
Oh you know what I saw in NOLA that I thought was very interesting? A Whole Foods! And it was packed! I could not find one healthy restaurant there, yet who knew there was a bunch of rich yuppies there? |

I've never shopped at whole foods but that is a funny a** article. I was cracking up laughing. :lol tears |

And our scale.... I should have stayed away. It's such a mind f***. The fact that it's not accurate too! Two days ago it said I went down 2 lbs and I was happy. Then today I got on and it said I went back up 1.5. I should just stay away. I know it's not a good scale. Tho I have to admit I had some bread today. Had a sandwich and peeled off most the bread but I did eat some. |
This looks SO good! A Salmon-Avocado Super Salad |

You guys are very entertaining...now if I can just get motivated to lose-lose-lose!!! |
Today the scale said I was four pounds lighter than yesterday:eek: I know that is not really possible but it was fun to see that. I drank 2 cups of green tea yesterday, the last one around 4 pm yet I was up every hour to use the bathroom, so I think that's what contributed to the big drop on the scale. I did go to the gym in the evening as well and ate good yesterday, but 4lbs in one day is not really possible. Besides getting up all night to go potty, I also woke up with one of the worst Charlie horses in my calf, It was so painful I could not help screaming and panting and almost fell down, then I was hanging over the railing in our upstairs landing for support. I even felt sick to my stomach after it was all over. My poor husband gets up at 5 am so he was quite startled by my 3 am screaming. While I was up Lola took over my spot in the bed, I was so groggy trying to push her out of the way but all she wanted to do was lick me all over and start to play. I was going to go to the gym this morning, but needless to say I am exhausted. I will go a little later when I finally wake up. Anyway how was your night:D |

DBlain I drink tea all the time. I love tea. I'm constantly running to the bathroom. haha. But I can't get enough of it. I have a tea for EVERYTHING! I use a little honey are nothing at all as sweetener. |

The only thing that motivates me when on a diet is the scale. My sister in NY also is starting a diet with me, sort of the Oz one and she also does not want to get on the scale at all, she is afraid to know. I just about convinced her last night she has to. on the oz diet you are supposed to have only green tea and it's OK, and I am drinking it with nothing added to it, which is fine, it's not great but I don't plan to have more than 2 cups a day. I have a bladder condition called Intersticial Cystiatis or something like that and things like tea and acid irate it so I don't want to over do it, you would not believe how often I am sprinting through malls and stores to get to a bathroom. Now I am in a dilemma, I friend called and said a group was going out to a really good Barbeque Jazz Restaurant this Sat and wanted us to join them, I am like hmmmmm no booze no barbeque sauce, but I want to see my friends, so I can't decide what to do. it is so much easier to diet when you are a hermit:p |

I have got on the scale but it's been a couple weeks. The last time I did I was disappointed because it hadn't budged. I figured I have to give my body time to respond to everything. I will get on it again Monday. In the past I've noticed it took about a month and then the weight just falls off. My family has a lot of gatherings and we get invited to bbq's all the time. I use to be good at control when it comes to food at those types of events and I am retraining myself to be that way again. It's ok to eat bad stuff once in a while, but you need to be careful not to over do it. |
It's been six days since I started counting cals/working out/eating cleaner and every morning the scale has said I am 1 pound less. so I've supposedly lost 6 lbs. My scale seems fairly accurate though.at least I hope so :D I actually do see a little difference in my tummy. I probably had water weight when I started. |
I did a veggie soup the other night and turned out really good. I used a can of beef broth, but use whatever you want. I put in all veggies I had on hand. I sauteed garlic, onion, and celery first in 1 tbs of oil with some salt and pepper, then added in carrot, broccoli, corn chopped off the cob and broth. After it came to a boil, I stirred in 2 beaten eggs so make it like an egg drop soup. But don't put in corn starch like in chinese soups! It was actually really tasty and filling! Bf even went back for seconds and he's usually really bratty about never eating stuff unless it has real meat in it. |

That is great! Keep going. I'll let you guys know where I am at on Monday. You know, at my other house, if I weighed myself in the bathroom it would say one thing. If I took the scale into the kitchen it said I was lighter. So I left the damn thing in the kitchen. lol But maybe it is time to invest in a new scale. Could it have been the flooring somehow? Both were linoleum flooring. No carpet or anything like that. |
Today when I went to the gym, the last few minutes on the treadmill I ran with an incline at 1. May not seem like much, but I could tell I was working harder. I'll be doing that more often. |
I'm so curious about all these cauliflower recipes. I tried the pizza twice. Didn't work well bc the oven only goes on broil, no bake. I'll try it again once we move into our new place. Meanwhile I found this. Looks good! I'd omit the bacon though! JCHONG STUDIO: Cauliflower Fried Rice |
way to go Carmen, That soup sounds yummy, when it comes to using the incline you are smart to take it up just to one and for a short time, a sudden change to a higher incline can easily lead to shin splints and back problems, I used to work out like insane, but I wound up with lots of injuries so unfortunately I am speaking from experience, but it is a great idea to keep kicking it up a half a notch at a time. I will go to the dinner and will have to eat something like a boneless chicken breast and a salad, the Oz diet is pretty restrictive and even corn is not allowed. I am going to the NY pet fashion events in a month and then skiing the first week in March I am really worried on what I will wear. Do you know I have about 75 pairs of black pants and only about 4 pair fit, it's ridiculous that I let this happen. I have so many nice outfits that are 2 sizes to small. Also my husband is constantly giving me crap about how much weight I let myself gain, he is right but it kills me to hear him say it, |

I probably have 50 pairs of capri's in a variety of colors and more than half of those don't fit, such a shame really. The sizes go from a very few "run big" size 6's to 14's |
I have been working with a personal trainer since Feb last year. In August we started 3 days a week with the new one. I walked 2 miles on lunch ever day this spring, summer and fall. I don't eat fast food, fried food, red meat, baked goods, chips, pasta, rice, nor do I drink soda. Of course I'm talking 95% of the time bc who does not eat one of those things occasionally? I have not lost 1lb. Not 1!!!! Talk about frustrating as anything! I am strong, lots of muscle! Hit a pesonal dead lift record tonight, 135lbs, so far! My trainer was so proud and tells me all the time how strong I am...yet still way too heavy and way too much body fat! I'm soooo discouraged! I go bc I dropped a whole clothing size to a 10 and my goal is to be an 8 again. **sigh** aging sucks! Lol |
On the bandwagon to lose about 20 lbs...personal goal I've become a little bit lax with going to the gym :o |

I am down .75 pounds from yesterday morning, which surprised me since I was 4 lbs lighter than the day before, I was afraid that loss was just water and would partly come back so getting on the scale today made me happy. I get on the scale every morning. Going into day three of Dr OZ Priscilla do you like making mashed cauliflower, I love it and found it's easy to make with the frozen bags. |

Me and you are trying to lose the same. I weighed 150 last time I weighed my self. I want to get to 130. 125 would be a bonus... but I will worry about that once I get to 130. :) I have a lot to do today. A lot of running around. I'm in the process of transferring from one college to the another. No work today. whoo hoo! I think I will hit the gym before I start my day too. |
