With regards to Planet Fitness they do have the bagels and pizza once a month. After 6 months of going there I have yet to be there on the day they offer it, so unless I knew about it from when I joined I would not have known they did this. At the one I go to they keep a basket of tiny tootsie rolls and purple taffy, by the front desk, sometimes I would take a tootsie roll before my cardio, sometimes not. At the one I go to the people in shape far out way the over weight people. I have been going to gyms off and on for over 30 years and to me the mix seems about the same as any other gym except for some of those places like curves or ladies only gyms. One thing I like is they keep it very clean, in fact it's one of the cleanest gyms I have ever been in. They can be a little fussy like you can't carry a gym bag around the work out area, or drape jackets on the machines. LOL they even told one of my friends that she needed to wear a different work out top since she had way to much cleavage showing (which in honesty she was). $10.00 a month is a bargain for this place, so Carmen you will probably like it a lot |
the diet I am on calls for a glass of warm lemon water in the morning, supposedly it helps detox the liver and help with weight loss, I am also going to try the vinegar as well. I just started reading a book called Plan D, it also speaks highly about the benefits of vinegar. Priscilla I now can say I like plain Greek Yogurt and you are right the higher the fat the better it tastes. it's hard to find though, I got the 2% Fage and actually look forward to having it in the afternoon now. |
dog Here's the way to lose weight-portion control. Just cut back on stuff. Cut out the junk food and reach for healthy snacks. DO NOT eat unless you are hungry. You do not need three meals a day. Eat small meals, snacks instead of a big breakfast, lunch and dinner. WALK. This is what I do and I do not worry about weight. Thank God you are healthy and pray for healthy habits. Treat yourself a little but portion control. You will lose weight and love it! My breakfast-coffee and toast and a fresh orange. I walk for 1 hour or 2. Then eat a yogurt. Later a banana. A few almonds. I am not hungry! Later a half of a sandwich. See, you can eat and lose weight! |

I'm writing this from my phone. Just wanted to let you guys know I got the courage to get on the scale today and it said I was 148. So I've lost two pounds so far. I drank wayyyyyy too much Saturday and spent the whole day in bed yesterday. One of my job's I do was suppose to start back up today but it's not. I am glad about that because my house looks like a tornado hit it. So instated of working out, I'm going to get my exercise by cleaning this place up. I have a 6 inch veggie delight on wheat I plan on eating for lunch. |

I don't know if they carry the Voskos brand here, in MI it does not sound familiar to me. The store had the full fat Fage there but I also noticed the 2% had 20 g while the full fat was lower. I have not had the full fat so don't know what to compare it to other than then the no fat that is so tangy. |

Thank you. It's a start. :) I am going to try not to be scared of the scale anymore and weigh myself more often so I can see if I am going up and down. Those things are good to know to keep you in check. |
What kind of workouts do yall do from home? I'm stuck at home and all my workout pants are in the dryer so I can't go run :p I'll probably just play the zumba wii game until the pants are done. |
Oh my goodness, you don't want to know. I like variety. I have my Zumba Fitness, my air climber, yoga from my iPhone app, and recently I've been trying Pilates from home. I really like to change it up. :p |
I have the zumba videos, but i have such a hard time working out at home. I always stop before i should because i get side tracked. :( We recently bought a smart tv which comes with FOD (fitness on demand I think they call it) which has some good videos too. I've been playing with those a little too. |

7 lbs is quite a good start. is Tony on the plan with you, it is so helpful to have support. My DH is not heavy so he thinks he is living healthy, the funniest thing is after a workout with dinner he has big chocolate protein shake with 2% milk and on top of the chocolate in the shake he adds a bunch of Hershey syrup to it:eek: He drinks two or more reg pepsi's everyday, he also adds at least two tablespoon of white sugar to the whole grain cereal I buy him. but he is thin so I try not to say anything, because he immediately turns the tables and complains about my weight so it is not worth bringing up all the sugar he consumes. Once I read this book Plan D I will let you know what I think, it is supposed to be very good and about health and clean living the gal that wrote it is a chemist or something and really understands food, she was quite obese as a young adult and now looks amazing, several of my friends read it. |
I don't know about the men in your life but it seems like woman will force themselves to eat things they are not that keen on if they see there is a heath benefit. My husband could not care less or even give it a try, like with stevia, or salad, or yogurt, or learning to not need his shake or cereal so sweet. Meanwhile I am eating stuff like plain greek yogurt and learning to like it. I will say while he does not need to loose weight he has high cholesterol and high Triglycerides which he prefers to take medicine for. At dinner the other night all the gals said they eat plain yogurt but not one of the guys would |

My guy is the same way. He eats horrible and loves beer. He gets mad when I push health food on him too. Mine also takes medicine for heartburn and asthma. I tell him he doesn't need medicine if he just changed his habits but he doesn't listen. |
