I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Dyson Vacuum and Frieze Carpet Question There was a vacuum review several years ago, and I just had to get a Dyson vacuum after reading it. I love the vacuum and couldn't believe how much more it picked up then my old vacuum did. I’m now interested in buying new carpet, but I’ve read some scary things about the Dyson and frieze carpet. I have the Dyson ball animal and the beater bar is self-adjusting, and this could be a problem with some carpets, because it doesn’t adjust high enough. Do any of you have a Dyson and use it on frieze carpet? How do you like it? Does it ever pull the yarn, or leave it fuzzy looking? Any other problems? I’ve also read that some materials, like nylon, may have a chemical reaction to urine and leave a bleached out appearance if you don’t catch the urine right away. I had my heart set on nylon, because it’s supposed to be stain resistant, but with all the grand dogs visiting (and everyone has a male dog); I’m wondering if there is a better choice? We are only carpeting bedrooms and steps.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I love my Dyson too. I'm not sure about the frieze carpet but I have nylon carpeting and it is pretty stain resistant. I did have a problem with red kool aid stains not coming out when Ken spilled it all over the carpet. Otherwise stains come out pretty easily.

| I also have a Dyson animal. I can't help you with the carpet question. I probably would have not even thought about it, bought the carpet, then been up a creek if there was a problem I did want to ask you if your Dyson ever has a smell while you are using it? Mine dies and I try to clean it and clean/swap the filter but have to did this almost after every use. Don't mean to hijack your thread, just wondering after reading you had one. Hopefully someone has some experience with the vacuum and that carpet. |

| I have a Dyson Animal and love it too, an upright, not the ball. I was shocked at what it got out of my carpet compared to the Oreck I had. I can't offer any advice on the carpet (not sure what kind that is) I only have carpet in 3 bedrooms which is Berber and the Dyson does fine on them.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Ha ha, red Kool-Aid, do I remember that, I actually think the carpet companies make it, so you have to buy new carpet. Nylon is supposed to be one of the best materials as far as stain resistance, but because of the way it’s dyed, some nylon carpets do react to urine, but I guess not all.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I can't imagine it needing it that often. It sounds like something is wrong. They have two filters don't they? Are you getting both of them? My memory is so bad, I think they have two. I only cleaned mine once, when Dyson sent me a reminder.
