I also have a Dyson animal. I can't help you with the carpet question. I probably would have not even thought about it, bought the carpet, then been up a creek if there was a problem

I did want to ask you if your Dyson ever has a smell while you are using it? Mine dies and I try to clean it and clean/swap the filter but have to did this almost after every use.
Don't mean to hijack your thread, just wondering after reading you had one. Hopefully someone has some experience with the vacuum and that carpet.
