| Stolen Dog! I was reading the paper this morning and I was looking in the pet ads, (don't know why????? I just do). Came across this ad. Makes me even more worried.... you just NEVER know! "Large Reward! 2 year old, female Grey/ Black Miniature Poodle STOLEN from Petsmart grooming at I-10 and Beltway 8. Just return the dog, and no questions asked. (number)" How sad. What are people thinking?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm maybe 10 minutes from that store - I am really thinking those poor dogs are being re-sold .....but I sure hate what else these awful could people do with them - It's really sad that people can't even take their doggies in for a groom without worrying about them being stolen. Petsmart needs to get alot better about their security - people can just sit and look thru those windows and maybe that's how people are targeting dogs ? That, or they really know which dog to steal and already have the owners name ? All I do know is this is happening far too often - this is one of quite a few stories I've heard recently about this happening However they're doing it - It's sick. |

a good warning to anyone wanting to use Big Groomers like Petsmart - be careful and make SURE they do not hand over your dog to just anyone - MAKE THEM TAKE your ID if they don't ask - and make them put something on the bill or instructions for the pet - Take charge and lessen the chance of it happening to you !! | |

| I just happen to use a PetSmart groomer for all 5 of my babies, and she is a true gem!! (I've read the horror stories on here, so I know how bad they can be! ) She's all of 90lbs soaking wet, but I wouldn't even think of messing with her when it comes to 'her' dogs!! She was referred to me, and I wouldn't go there if it wasn't for her. In fact I'll follow her wherever she goes - she's that good! I just always feel a twinge when I read the bad stories about PetSmart's groomers, because I know they're not all bad. There's at least one good one out there!! If they only could all be as great as her!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree Sherry Lynn - a place is only as good as it's employees and unfortunately most Petsmarts have very young groomers who are pretty new to it - the times I've been in there (and yes I HAVE used them in the past) - no one was over 20. To me - they are ok for some breeds but I have yet to hear alot of good stories about grooming yorkies - you are one of the lucky ones - I wish I could find a groomer like you have because if I did - I WOULD try Petsmart again. there is always going to be talk when something BAD happens and Petsmart happens to be a place in Houston that dogs ARE turning up missing at.... this is one story of many recently here in Texas. plus....I've also had really BAD grooms there for my cockers....so much so that I would never trust them with Chanel & Cheri - which is why I Groom them myself now - I hardly trust anyone anymore when it comes to them |

| "Rare Dog Breed Stolen From Home Dana Arquilla Katie Galligan returned home Wednesday to find she had been robbed, but her money, jewelry and other valuables were still intact. In fact, the only thing missing was her 10-week-old wolf-hybrid puppy. Two other dogs, Gunner and Charlie, were untouched, but this rare breed vanished. Galligan contacted the Bay County Sheriff's Office, and the case is now under criminal investigation. The dog-napper or napper(s) may be in some “doggone” trouble. Officials are following up on possible leads. "I just want our baby back," she says. Grand theft qualifies if stolen items are more than $300. Galligan says "Sable" was worth $3,000. If you have any information regarding this case, you can contact the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 747-4700." Above is a story that appeared in our local area this morning ! WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO ? How horrible for all the people involved, I just can't imagine what I would do if one of our babies was taken. They would need a really tight jail to keep me from doing great bodily harm to the persons responsible up to and including terminating them !!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I totally agree Helen...with the prices of small breeds going higher and higher because of unethical breeders/brokers/pet stores - this is becoming more and more common - it's a super sad world when someone STEALS a family member to sell them - it's just sick sick sick let me add - when I say unethical breeders.... I only mean the ones that charge thousands of dollars over the norm for so called RARE or Tiny sized dogs |
