| Mowed my lawn, one last time, yesterday....and it started to snow while I was out there! Yup...people driving by looking at me like I was crazy But, it was kinda nice...not too cold but a few white flakes falling. It definately put me in the Christmas mood. Game plan for the weekend is to haul all the xmas boxes out and test lights & see what I have to put where (hopefully get rid of stuff I don't have use for at the wee house) in preparation for decorating while my kids are home from college for Thanksgiving break. This will be ZoE's first Christmas with us and I'm a lil worried about how she'll react to the tree and decorations. Here's to hoping she doesn't view everything as a chew toy...

| Im so excited I won my big thumbsucker girl troll on ebay. Tonight I went to build a bear and bought a Christmas outfit to put on her it is so cute. We are putting the outside christmas lights out tomorrow. We really arent having anyone over for Thanksgiving this year so the friday after we are going to start getting our indoor christmas stuff out. I am going to get my daughters christmas present on sunday. Then everyone else we can get as we go along. We know what we are getting everyone. MY daughters was the main one to get out of the way so Im getting in the mood for Christmas just because of that.

| I will when it comes it I actually got 2. They are coming from Washington so it may be a few days. They are really cute. Kinda like the trolls we used to collect as kids but these the hair is down because they are girls and their facial is a little different because they are from denmark. They are cute though and its kinda like collecting dolls except these all have different outfits and some are even for different holidays like I have a skeleten man one for halloween that I put out with my halloween decor

| We are getting some Christmas decorations today and picking out a tree next weekend. I have been playing Christmas music and warming Christmas scents in my Scentsy warmer for WEEKS now. Bwhahahaha Just received a TON of the gifts I ordered for family in the mail, so some of the pressure is already lifted (woohoo) Oh, and I'm constantly fighting being freezing! It must mean the holidays are here. haha

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Love that little blue tree! Well I finally am taking the plunge this year. I don't know if I've ever mentioned it but I adore peacocks! I love the colors, the feathers, love it! So I am finally going to do the Christmas tree of my dreams I've had floating around in my head for years...a peacock themed Christmas tree. I have no idea if it'll come out looking awesome or awful, but I'm gonna give it all I've got. I got some peacock ornaments at Hobby Lobby and some themed ribbon. I still have to find a tree topper and lights and a white tree, but I hope to get it done this coming weekend after Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see more pictures of you guys' decorations!

| Got out my lifesize Santa and brought him in the den, standing next to my 35" Shirley Temple doll who is wearing her red and white dress/pinafore and now her new red shoes to match. Put a red and white candy-striped bow in her hair and she looks so cute. The Lava Lamp Candle with red glitter is standing on a small table between Shirley and Santa and the presents I wrapped today and grouped around Santa. The Elf On The Shelf is sitting atop a stack of presents. All the presents are wraped in candy-cane red and white or solid red. Brought out one of my big Kewpie dolls and put a Santa hat on it - it is standing across the den from Santa and Shirley. When I got done, had a pot of hot tea and one of my Little Debbie Holiday Cakes and watched the 2009 Blu-Ran "A Christmas Carol". It's pretty close to the Dickens' version and well done. That 1080p is gorgeous on a big screen!!! Beautiful movie.

| I'm going thru my recipes to see what cookies I want to make. I put clear lights on two globe arborvites that I have in the front of the house in large terracotta pots. After thanksgiving I'll put red velvet bows on the railings and a wreath on the door. My oldest son is going on vacation and he'll be back on 12/4, so we'll wait til he's back to decorate inside the house. This will be our first Christmas without our little Sammy so I'm sure it will be hard. At least we have lots of wonderful memories of him running thru the wrapping paper and "helping" everyone open their gifts. I hope all of you have wonderful holidays with your families and precious furbabies too! |
