| Everybody's ideas and things are so neat! I wish I could see all these finished decorations and baked goods! We should try to post pictures of our finished products for all to share. I will put up a picture of Santa and Shirley and the Elf later today or tomorrow when I'm a little less beat. After the decorating, I did a washload and floors.

| Here is a picture of the 35" Shirley Temple doll with Santa Clause figure. It is daylight & I haven't turn on the Lava Lamp candle yet or the little Christmas tee on the ledge. Also including a picture of The Elf On The Shelf. We probably won't put the tree up until Thanksgiving or the day after this year.

| I have spent the day preparing my lighting display and checking all the Christmas decorative items we use. I start installing my lights next week and switch on is midnight on the last day of November. Joan and I have no children to visit us to see our decorations so we do it for the children who live around the area. Our display is popular in the area and we as well as the local people, look forward to it.

| That bow was just a silly touch. She was wearing the sweetest white eyelet bow. Those are her new red shoes that I got from the lady on Ebay - those and some Navy Blue ones. That Santa is the old dancing Karaoke Santa of a few years back sold everywhere, with the head replaced by one I found at an antique store in Forney, Texas. I think the doll it came on was about 27" tall and was old and bedraggled but there was that old wonderful pixie-cum-1950's Santa head on it. Bought the doll, took off the head and trashed the old doll body. I also use that wonderful old head on my Santa mannequin body that sits and has its own luxury Santa suit but takes a couple of hours to put together - not up to that this year! Christmas decorations very scaled back this year due to the hip - grrrrr. Course my little Yorkie partner loves all about decorating - he "helps" soooo much by being either right under foot, stealing what he can make off with or watching from the safety of the couch when things get too loud or bang-y. Yorkies love decorating and all the searching and activity - it makes them feel so important to get to be part of all that action and work. Tibbe acts just like he is exhausted after a decorating session - a lot of which involves moving a lot of things to get to what you want and then putting those thing back in place and then finally you get to the decorating! All those goings on are just meat and potatoes to Tibbe - he just loves it all. And if ever I am missing a piece of a decoration, a bulb or a bow, all I have to do is look in Tibbe's Pink Cadillac Carrier - that is where he takes his loot - not his Cloud 9 bed. The Carrier is hidden away between the couch and a chest and it is his den for squirreling things away. Sometimes that thing is so full of stuff he can barely get in! He is so funny!

| That's sweet of you to say. I do love "playing" with things and so I decorate a lot as an excuse to dress my collectible dolls or teddy bears up in appropriate outfits and pose them with other seasonal or topical things. Family and friends seem to like coming in and seeing what the latest "scene" is. With my hip I've been very hampered of late so this year Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations and scenes are going to be very simple and scaled back as I can't really get into storage and bring out many things. But you can form a little seasonal "scene" with only a few things and then sit back and enjoy for a long while. I sure enjoy decorating and getting ready for holidays - especially the big ones like Christmas and Easter but I decorate for anything - a big football game, all birthdays, coming cruises or trips, babies' births, you name it and I can decorate!

| I found the cutest things to add to my Christmas decor this year. It was Alvin and the chipmunks and this reindeer with big eyes. They are plush which I normally dont buy but I think Im gonna go back and get them on Friday. I think I may go to Target and look for that elf also. My Daughter is going over to a Friends on Thanksgiving so we are going to have our Family dinner and movie on Wednesday Night and then on Thanksgiving me and my Husband are going to decorate for CHristmas. I cant wait. I also got these cute tins that say Santa Claus cookie co to put my homemade fudge in and give to teachers and family so that will be fun. I also bought a big mickey mouse christmas decoration. It is so cute. We decorate with alot of disney stuff so it really goes cute in my house. I am so getting excited for Christmas. Im ready to get all of my present buying done but that will be about the 10th of december when Im able to finish up.
