| Has anyone tried Paula's Choice? She wrote all those 'Don't Go to the Cosmetic Counter Without Me" books. She has her own line of skincare products. I love the one for dry/sensitive skin; it's reasonably priced; you know exactly what ingredients it contains (and she's familiar with the 'state of the art' ingredients"; and I can buy them online. I use a variety of other things too - I still love Estee Lauder Futurist foundation and Clinique's night cream.

| I love reading her product reviews. She rates the products and the price.

| I used Rhonda Allison one time for about 2 months.... it was really nice stuff, I liked it a lot, but I can't buy it around here (bought it in NM) and its super expensive! Also for those with a touch of acne or kids with a touch of acne, I highly reommend Arbonne line products. Particularly the clear advantage line https://www.arbonne.com/shop_online/...sp?category=77. I used it for months and it helped my skin a lot... did not clear me up completely but made it all manageable and not so embarrassing. Then again I have cystic issues, not surface pimples, so someone with surface pimples only would probably do very well on this line of products!

| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I have what is euphemistically(sp?) referred to as mature skin. I'm looking for a new skin care line right about now. I've used Aveda Dr Hauscka,Clinique, Clarins, and others that I can't right now remember the name of if they also work for memory I'll be happy as a clam. My skin tends to the dry side, and oh yes I rarely remember to use the toner ppl always recommend and I buy. I have fine lines, deep lines, laugh lines and not too many frown lines. Suggestions are welcome.

The only thing that I know is extremely helpful is to find a good moisturizer with a generous amount of SPF that protects against both UVA and UVB. I am currently using the derma clay cleanser for my acne prone skin from dermalogica and I think it is working beautifully. This moisturizer is pretty expensive (it is $62) Dermalogica AGE Smart - Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 at DermStore BUT I found an auction on Ebay that ends in 2 hours where the price is $34.99 with no bids Dermalogica*DYNAMIC SKIN RECOVERY SPF 30*Sun Block~BNIB | eBay I buy all my skin products on E-bay and I've had no issues at all...I usually save anywhere from $5-$50 depending on the product. I hope others can help you better than I can

These are tried and true anti-agers: Good daytime moisturizer with 15-30 SPF to block UVA and UVB rays (as another poster said); chemical exfoliants such as AHA products and, of course, no arsenol would be complete without a tube of some type of Retin-A. Although it's prescription; it's still cheaper than a lot of department store cosmetics and has been proven to work. Good Luck! I have dry, sensitive skin as well so would use the lowest possible dose of Retin A every other night. I've been out for a while and I can tell!

| Does anyone have any suggestions for blackheads? I have...what looks like an anthill on my nose and it's embarassing. The Biore strips does absolutely nothing for me because there are just way too many. I've never had a facial at a spa or anything like that except for once and I wasn't really impressed...does anyone have any suggestions with this problem? I'm tired of having to goop makeup onto my face in order to hide them and still it looks gross...

The difference between AHA’s (glycolic, lactic) and BHA’s (salicylic acid) is that AHA’s are water soluble and BHAs are oil soluble. What that means to your skin is AHA’s are less effective in penetrating the sebum (oil) content of pores, but BHA’s can. BHA’s will take care of blackheads and blemishes better than AHA’s. AHA’s will like cause more sloughing of skin than BHA’s (BHA’s are gentler, in other words). With the Salicylic there is greater variation for each person. Some people can use the Salicylic every day, while others find that more than once a week can be irritating to the skin. Salicylic Acid is oil soluble, the outside layer of your skin is covered in oil, and being oil soluble, the salicylic acid is able to penetrate this outer layer. Because it does exfoliate, the use of sun protection is needed. A serum is good and so is a peel, it's just a matter of which ever one you prefer using. It does take time to see results you just have to stick with it. Here are some sites I use for myself: This is the serum, this is an 8% but if it's to drying they have a 5% and a 3%: Treat oily skin, acne, blackheads, occasional breakouts and cystic acne with our salicylic acid-based beta hydroxy serums in 3%, 5% and 8% strengths This is a peel: 15% Salicylic Acid At Home Chemical Peel Make Up Artists products have a higher ph which makes them a little more gentle than Skin Obsession's products. I use Skin Obsession's peels because I've been using them for almost two years (off & on) and my skin is used to them. Skin Obsession Chemical Peels, Serums, treatments and more. I can't really say how well the Beta's work because I've only used the glycolic's and the lactic's, which I do like, but if I had acne issues I would use the BHA's since they penetrate the oily plug in the pores better.....Good luck!

| Personally I have never experienced microdermabrasion. From what I've read it's similar to peels. The micro. and peel are similar in that they exfoliate the top layer of skin. One uses chemicals which causes it to slough off.....withthe micro. the skin is kind of *sanded* off. They're both some what superficial, if using a low % solution peel. They both produce redness and can cause some irritation. I don't believe either one will do much as in a skin transformation by just doing one session. From what I've read they both require several sessions to see good results. If you have a coupon you can use it to see if you'd like to go back for more treatments. You can't do both because it would cause way to much irritation and can cause damage to the skin.

| Yes, that makes sense..lol.....Just make sure your skin is completely healed from one procedure before doing any other procedures on it.. Everyone's skin is different in sensitivity and what it can take. My skin is like iron..... I read that when your in your 20's you get essentially new skin every three weeks but as we age this process slows down so by the time your in your 50's this process can take nine weeks. So you have to be careful your not exfoliating at a faster rate than what is being regenerated or you'll be removing more than your growing. Not a good thing..... ![]() These are testimonials from Makeup Artists site. I find them interesting to read. I am a bit skeptical at some of their results. Makeup Artist's Choice Client Testimonials and Photos I have NEVER had a WOW! moment from doing a peel ot two. It probably took me about a year of doing several 6 week series (one a week) with 3-4 weeks off between series before I saw clearer, smoother, brighter skin. I wish I had taken a pic. before I started so I could have seen the *before* for a reference point.....Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you....
