| My dtr and her bf have netflix and is trying to convince us to get it and downgrade our cable. I still want my tv. Would love to see more movies when we want to. Trying to save money any way we can. Right now we have a deal with att. and it looks as if we downgrade our programming we will spend more money cause we would have to pay a monthly fee for the dvr. We will crunch numbers this weekend to see what is best for us.

| YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I just cancelled mine. I had it for about 4 or 5 months, and it seems just about everything I wanted to see was "unavailable". Forget getting new releases - I can watch them "on demand" months ahead of Netflix, and now with the price increasing, we decided it just wasn't worth it.

| I dropped down to just streaming for now. Not sure what I will do after the change. Right now I get dvd's for another month so I am cramming them in as many as I can- lol Bugs the crap out of me that they are making these changes but we do stream a lot. So, we will see.

| We use to have Netflix but then decided to cancel it. Now with the price increases I'm glad i did. We use REDBOX. 1$ each movie. There's a Redbox at every convience/drug store around here. And you dont have to return it to the same one.

| Thor's Human Donating Member | I was clueless that Netflix raised their prices. Because of this thread, I downgraded so my cost stays the same.

| I'm glad in our area we still have a lot of mom and pop dvd stores here, and new releases are $1 and blurays are $1.50. I don't like redbox bc the discs are always scratched or everything is always out. There's also always a line for Red Box, esp at my Stater Bros market, when there is a video store literally outside. Why are you people standing in line? I initially got Netflix purely for the movies. Any tv shows I want to watch are availalbe on hulu or on the network's website a week or so after it airs. Any new releases I would go to the video store. So I wanted netflix for those old obscure movies that my dvd shop probably wouldn't have. NONE of the movies I wanted to watch were available for streaming, they were all on the upgraded dvd plan. So that's why we cancelled. I heard that Netflix is upping the cost bc of studios are making them pay more for royalties (I think that's the word?) so they are passing the costs down to us.

| I think we are leaving it.... with Red Box in about 6 locations less than a mile from our house, we can rent a movie at any time for a night for $1. Netflix is not my fav anyways, they don't get new releases when you want to see them. I can't believe they are crazy enough to raise prices like that with Red Box taking off the way it is.

| I have had Netflix for the past 8 years and had always been pleased with the pricing for videos mailed and being able to stream through my Wii. However with this increase in pricing I think I will try just dropping the videos in the mail and give it a few months to see how it goes with the streaming....It's just crazy to have to pay seperately for both....

| I went to the unlimited streaming plan for $7.99 last night. I think we'll be fairly happy with that-we have about 150 movies/shows in our queue so that should keep us busy for a while. I can't stand Blockbuster, we do have one left here. They are the exact reason we came straight home from their store & ordered Netflix! When another big video store went out of business, the next day BB upped their prices-$5 for OLD movies! Yes, it was going to cost us $10 to rent 2 old movies, I could've probably found them in the $5 bin at walmart!

| We had Netflix since 05/2009 and cancelled 07/2011. I got tired of the price increases and when we received a movie, somethimes it would sit there 2 weeks before we watched it. With the way the economy is, it did not make sense to keep it. I now go by Red Box and get a movie, renting it online and dropping by to pick it up is not that bad! Also at 1.09 a movie, it is a lot better deal for us!
