I'm glad in our area we still have a lot of mom and pop dvd stores here, and new releases are $1 and blurays are $1.50. I don't like redbox bc the discs are always scratched or everything is always out. There's also always a line for Red Box, esp at my Stater Bros market, when there is a video store literally outside. Why are you people standing in line?

I initially got Netflix purely for the movies. Any tv shows I want to watch are availalbe on hulu or on the network's website a week or so after it airs. Any new releases I would go to the video store. So I wanted netflix for those old obscure movies that my dvd shop probably wouldn't have. NONE of the movies I wanted to watch were available for streaming, they were all on the upgraded dvd plan. So that's why we cancelled.

I heard that Netflix is upping the cost bc of studios are making them pay more for royalties (I think that's the word?) so they are passing the costs down to us.
