| I wake up around 7 or so, open the doggie door and let the crew outside, start the coffee, watch the news, read the paper, check email while making breakfast...usually bacon and eggs of some sort, feed the crew, make bed, shower and get dressed, make second pot of coffee to drink while we decide what we want to do or where we want to go for the day. Retired life is rough I tell ya! |

That's a really good idea! Cooking is something I can do without being fully awake. I wake up late too, so I could even run to the grocery store. And then I have something healthy to eat later.

| Definitely use your crock pot...I put 4 pork chops in mine yesterday morning and cooked them until tender...then added some BBQ sauce...they were so good! I also cook my pot roasts in the crock pot and boneless chicken breast...you can cook several of them ahead and keep them in the fridge so they're ready when you want them. I use my crock pot quite a bit...it's nice to come home to the smell of food cooking and half the work is already done! |

| No Longer a Member | Wow, you lucky folks: 5:15 alarm goes off 5:30 roll out of bed, do crunches and push-ups to get blood started 5:35 try to wake up the little prince, who proceeds to slowly stand and strech, yawn, lay back down, roll over, curl up, stand and strech, then decide mornings aren't worth the effort and tries to hide under my pillows. 5:40 pick the little man out from behind the pillows and take him outside, if I don't physically place him outside, he'll just lay down on the floor next to the bed. He is such a lazy pants 5:50 back inside and eat my breakfast (usually cereal) and make my lunch for the day 6:00 play fetch to wake up the little doggy and to try to burn up some of his energy 6:30 put food down for the furries, clean the litter box, make sure the gate is properly set up so the pup cant get to the "kitty crunchies" and let the pup out again to make sure he got all the tinkles out the first time. 6:50 out the door and on my way to work. |

| I often wondered what others do in their morning routine My alarm is set for 6, but I'm normally awake by 5:45....if it's a morning that Dh didn't have work the night before I try not to move around too much because Bijou and Barley start jumping on the bed to wake us up and go out. I open my bedroom door and they run to Garrett's bed (Great Pyrenees so the bedroom's too hot for him) Then they all go outside, while I get them fresh water and food. Once they are done I can shower, then I have to let them outside again. If DH is home we make his coffee and the babies run in to wake him up. I do make-up then as I dry my hair, Bijou loves playing fetch (I started it with her as a tiny, so she wouldn't be afraid of the hairdryer) Barley goes back to bed...he is not a morning doggy at all. I brush Bijou's teeth as I'm brushing mine...she loves being part of my routine....Barley refuses to get out of bed for it, so occasionally I go in to him and brush them. Lastly, they get to go outside one more time, while I make my breakfast and coffee to go for the commute. I normally leave by 7:30......I really need to start getting up at 5:30 and go for a run, but I love sleeping in so much I just can't bring myself to it

| Thor's Human Donating Member | Today I woke up, checked YT, then took thirty minutes to chop veggies and put them in the oven. It worked out nicely. I'm awake now, more or less.

| I am a stay at home mom so I first say a prayer, make my coffee, if there are any dishes left from the night before I do them. Then I help my daughter get ready for school. All while I do this Im drinking my coffee. Then I watch the news and 700 club

| From what I understand (I wouldn't personally know LOL) is that if you exercise in the morning then you need less caffeine. BOTH of those things would be healthier for you. I however, drink my 2 cups of coffee and sit on the couch until I wake up, that is at least an hour on weekends. Maybe you should switch your video games to something like Wii games or something where you are up and moving doing mindless exercises until you feel awake enough to move? I really need to start getting up at 530am and doing the elliptical for 20-30 mins each morning!!! I want to start doing that... I wish my wants would win out over the warm bed and cuddly pups!

| Thor's Human Donating Member | I feel great when I exercise in the morning. I'm relaxed, energized, and level-headed. That lasts for about an hour, and then I struggle not to drop into a coma. Morning exercise is not for me, unfortunately.
