| My Blood id Boining right now!! Ok, I'm am right out of my mind right now. My daughter who turned 16 on the 3rd got her learners permit yesterday after school. When I get home I notice that they inverted 2 letters of our town so it is spelled wrong. Ok so this morning I go back to the same DMV and walk through the stupid hampster trail, No one is on line mind you so I am the only idiot walking around those stupid ropes. I get to the lady, about 90 years old, and explain the problem. She tells me, "Oh no she has to come in and change it because it's in her name" WTF !!! So she asks the lady next to her and she says the same thing. First of all she is only 16 so no matter what she signs is not binding anyway. I am her mother I have my license that is the same address and spelled correctly. The zip is right, the street address is right. I'm not changing the town I would just like it spelled correctly. Her real learners permit, with her picture on it, is going to be spelled wrong also. So I'm supposed to drive all the way back there at 3:30 in the afternoon when the place is a zoo to have it changed. No way!!! It will stay like that forever as far a sI'm concerned because I'm not doing that!!!!!

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Its the same way here in the UK, the owner of the license has to be present. Still pretty stupid I know because at 16 shes still a minor. Does it really matter if its spelt wrong? if not then I wouldnt bother. When she gets her proper license just make a note of it.

| That is a pain, but at our DMV office, when they issue a new card, it is all new, so they would have to retake her picture anyway....wouldn't they?

| No they took her picture before she took the written test. After she passed it then she was issues a temporary until the one with the picture comes in the mail.

| You really are upset! You asked admin to delete the thread that was spelled right! I kind of like the misspellings.... adds quite a bit to your meaning... (JK)

| I know I am crazy right now. Then to top it off. There is a house across the street from me that has tons of illegal tenants. Well apparently someone moved in with 3 kids. A girl who is about 9 and two small kids about 4 ish. Well my daughters VW bug is parked right in front of my house and they insist on playing baseball with some man right by her car. PS- we have a park right around the corner. I can see it from my kitchen window. Anyway the babies start barking like crazy while I am writing my post so I get up and they are out there again. I guess they don't go to school either. So I grab my daughters keys, storm out there, get into her car, speed up past my house and park it in front of my neighbors house, slam her car door and slam my front door. Do you think they got the hint??? I certainly hope so!!

| Oh, probably not what you want but sending you virtual hugs... BTW, whenever I run into people of this caliber, I always revert back to "they're just jealous because the voices only talk to me". You've got to try to laugh in these types of situations or you'll drive yourself crazy. I agree with other poster tho that I would just let it slide until the permanent license is issued. Best of luck to you and I hope your day gets better!!! and one more Peggy, Monkey & Maddie

| You don't mess with the DMV - they NEVER make mistakes. I wish you better luck in correcting their type than I had with mine. When I moved back to Georgia and got my new driver's license my DOB was listed as "00" as in 1900. That would have made me 96 years old. I never noticed UNTIL a local cashier told me I was well preserved for my age . When I went to the DMV to change it I HAD TO SHOW 2 FORMS OF PROOF of my correct birthdate. I jumped through those hoops and when I got my new and corrected driver's license, my DOB was "00" as in 1900. I let it slide until I got a letter from DMV stating that my driver's license would be suspended if I didn't have it corrected . So I had to go back through the hamster trail, with my trusted two forms of ID and deal with a grinning DMV employee -- she was very nice and in the end I did get my DOB corrected (she did it manually) and we both had a laugh at this well preserved 96 year old southern belle. |

| They are just unbelievable. I will wait until she goes for her road test and then I will jump through all their hoops to make sure it is changed. IDIOTS!!!
