Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Monday's arent that bad! So, I haven't been around much this week. I just had one of the worst weeks in a VERY long time. I now have a minature schnauzer that I have taken in. He was found by a friend of mine and after a week, they couldnt keep him. Two of my clients said they would give him a home, so I agreed to take the guy in because they were leaving town and just going to take him to a near by shelter. Took him to the groomer and vet first day, he had a severe yeast infection in his ears and heartworm positive. Of course now no one wants him, so me and my husband are coughing up roughly 1000.00 for his heartworm treatment, neuter and vaccines. He is such a sweet loving dog, he is about 5 years old and so far I havent seen anything that I dont love about him. He will make someone a great pet, but I am going to be very careful with placing him. Probably won't be at that point for 3-4 months anyway. This was the highlight of my week....definitely made me smile and I am thankful for this little guy! Tuesday, one of my clients died. She didnt show up for work and her daughter was trying to reach her all morning. I get there at 12:00 to walk her dog and I see police cars, medical exaimner and an ambulance. Apparently, I was 15 minutes shy of finding her myself. Her daughter had gotten there 15 mnutes before me to find her mom had passed. I can't imagine finding that when I walk in to walk her maltese. Her husband was out of the country....it was a mess. Very sad and I am going to miss her. Wednesday, I was walking a 3 legged great dane. His name is Henry and I am training him to walk again. It is HARD. He gets so tired that he starts dragging his bum and gives up. I have to pick him up and get him going again. Well, a lady comes out of her front door and screams, "Do you need a plastic bag to pick up that crap?" And slams her door again. I knew there was no way I missed a 140 lb dog taking a crap, but I walked 2 more houses put Henry back in his house and proceeded back to this ladies house to check. She had gotten in her car and was driving towards me, rolls down her window saying I am irresponsible and need to clean up the crap. WELL, long story short, Henry did not crap in her yard. What she saw was him getting tired and dragging his bum. She thought he pooped. She didnt apologize, but looked totally embarassed. Two days later, she takes an apology card with a gift card to Henry's owners and said there was no excuse for her behavior. I thought that was awesome of her to realize she was wrong and own it. I have yet to use the gift card, I think I will go today and find Henry a toy. Friday, I go for a late visit to see 3 pups at bed time, it was about 9:30. Well, the Australian Shepard was dead and had been attacked. I have never seen such a brutal attack, there was so much blood. I had to call my client who is a Captain at a fire dept. She was devastated and told us she didnt want to see any of it. So, my husband and I wrapped the dog in his blanket, cleaned the other 2 dogs who were injured and bleeding, cleaned the patio. ETC. We didnt leave until 2 am. Heartbreaking! Saturday morning my husband gets up to go deer hunting with his Dad. Sunday morning he called and was at the ER with his Dad!! He apparently had a mini stroke and they were 4 hours away. They are now back in Dallas and we are admitting him to a hosptial here for more tests. I am THANKFUL For this Monday! Hoping for a better week! I hope you all have a great week! |

| Oh my gosh! What a terrible week. There are some nice highlights to it, but overall yeah that would make me want a bottle of wine and to not pull the covers off in the morning! I hope this is a much better week for you!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Wow, what a week, you had enough for 5 separate threads! I'll bet you'd like to stay in bed with the covers over your head this week. So glad you are able to foster the miniature schnauzer, and I've heard that people often dump a dog when they find he needs heartworm, this is such a cold hearted thing to do, and I'm glad you're able to help him. I felt sorry for the lady who through a hissy fit about the Great Dane, I know how she felt, and it was great that she actually owned up to her mistake. I'm shocked to read about the Australian Shepard. Was the attack by an intruding dog, or one of his own pack? That must have been a horrible job for you, and I hope the other dogs are safe. Mini Strokes can be a blessing in disguise, they do tell you that something broken and action needs to be taken or serious consequences will result, they can be a huge wake-up call. Hope you FIL get better soon and I also hope this week is boring for you!

I was glad the lady apologized. I was definitely hacked when she started attacking me, when I KNEW Henry did not poop. Ugh...it was crazy. But, I put a Thank you Card on her door and explained that it was ok, mis understandings happen every day. I am not one to hold a grudge if one apologizes, I thought that was very sweet of her. We are actually wondering if the Australian shepard was attacked by something else. IT was so brutal. I guess we will never know. The boxer was also bleeding. He has a lot of swelling, nothing major. He got to come home today. They decided not to admit my FIL he feels fine now. I think you are right, it was a good thing he had this episode to warn him. THey are doing all kinds of tests today and tomorrow.

| Wow..... Holy Hannah! I think I would be in bed ,, covers pulled up,, with a chai and the Food Network on! I am so sorry that you had to deal with all of that. That is way to much for the normal super-human to deal with. I am keeping my fingers, and toes, crossed for you this week. |

| Oh my gosh what a week! At least you know it's gotta get better from here! My mom had a mini stroke a year and a half ago and it is such a blessing in disguise! She hadn't been to a doctor in at least 20 years and now she's forced to go for check-ups, had a ton of tests and is on medication, and has quit smoking! I hope your FIL gets some insight with the tests they're running on him.

We were really worried about my FIL. He had a valve replacement 3 years ago and has gone for regular 6 month check ups and everything has been perfect. They did say today that he had a TIA. He is also wearing a heart monitor for the next 24 hours. More tests tomorrow. I am glad they are doing all necessary tests.

| Oh, dear! That was awful! Know what I thought was so sweet? You said you thought you might buy a toy for Henry. Years ago a neighbor that lives a quarter of a mile up the addition had a great dane and he was scared of thunder. Sometimes he'd come hide in our garage if it was open! I hope your FIL will be ok.
