Dyson vacuums?

Ok this must be kismet or something. I've been thinking about vaccum cleaners too. I have an Oreck but will all the dustbunnies and hairballs we have here, I'm constantly changing bags, it does get expensive!

It is funny huh? And it's a lot of the same people on both threads....wonder if that means anything?

Wish I knew. I ordered it thru our BX and they never tell you when to expect it. I'll definately post with I get it here and use it.

I told her I'd really like to have it now and I mentioned going across the parking lot and asking Target if they'd do a price match on it. And she offered me another 5% off the regular price if I would order it through her store. That meant I saved another $27 so I let her order if for me. I have to wait a few days for it to get here but I'm ok with that.

LOL So now I have this visual of you pushing every model up & down the aisles in BB&B. And you thought you were the only customer......haha. I bet there was someone lurking.......watching......& now tells the story to others about this Obsessed lady in BB&B trying out ALL the Dyson vacs. Don't be alarmed if you see yourself on YouTube!!
ps......knew when you said you were just "looking"...... you'd buy one for sure. Now you must send the furbabies to me so they won't get sucked into the Dyson when you try it out for the first time. When should I pick them up??

I also have a Dyson Animal, I got mine at Fry's -its a refurb but I think I paid maybe $150.00 for it two years ago. I love it, picks up well on both carpet and hardwood floors but what I like the best is the brush attachment, I use it to clean the slates on my plantation blinds and it works GREAT.

Sophie Kate not so much a fan of the Dyson, she attempts to bark it into submission.

We have had our Dyson Animal Ball for over 3 years now and love it. It does a great job on carpet and hardwood/tile. If you get the "kick back" while on hardwood/tile, turn off the brushes, this will eliminate the problem. On hardwood/tile I always leave the brushes off unless its not getting all the dirt up.

I will say this though... a couple of weeks ago, we had a Kirby salesman come to our home and he had us vaccum our carpet and then he vaccumed with the Kirby and it still got up more dirt... so I don't know. We are still loyal to our Dyson (and ticked off the salesman lol) but the Kirby was very enticing.

Well....I know one man saw me. He stopped and watched me with a curious look on his face. I'm sure he thought I was actually cleaning the floors with a 'Super Quiet Cordless' vacuum.

I was thinking of putting the pupsters in the xpen when I vacuum....if this doesn't keep them safe I'll be calling you!

What a great idea!! I'm going to try it on my blinds. Are you using the little unit with the roller brush inside or do you have something else?

I was having a major case of Buyer's Remorse last night. I couldn't believe I'd spent that much money on a vacuum when my Hoover is still working.

Then later on I spilled some potting soil on the floor and pulled out the Hoover to clean it up. The whiny noise sounded much worse and it took me several passes to get all the dirt picked up. When I finished, the floor still felt a little gritty to me. The poor thing is on its last legs.

So now I think the timing was perfect for me to get a new vacuum, and I think I'm going to be very happy with this Dyson.

I highly doubt you you will regret it once you begin to use it. It maneuvers very well. I don't use it often (DH and the kids do! lol) but I know it has made it easier for the kids and we are constantly having to dump the thing that collects the dirt... its embarrassing to see how much dust/dirt is in our house! Thats what we get for having a 100 year old house with lots of kids coming and going and 4 dogs and 3 cats (one is a foster kitty)... Its absolutely NECESSARY for us to have something that works well! lol

Well mine arrived today. I have no idea how well it vacuums because I can't get it to move. It's as though it's glued to the floor or carpet and I can't move it back and forth. The little booklet doesn't have a thing on that problem. Anyone have any ideas?
